Please help!!! Lost card at wedding!!(repost from BHB)

My friend came to our wedding and brought a friend with her. I could swear they gave me a card, but when we got home that was the only one missing. I can't be too sure they gave us one. Do I aproach her? I started to write her an email, but wanted to consult with your guys first. I have to write the thank you's but don't know what to write!!!

Should I just forget it and write thank you for the gererous gift anyway? What if she didn't give me a gift? I don't want to sound like I am asking for her gift or anything. If she put cash in, then, that really S*cks!

Definitely a sticky situation since some of the people we expect to give a gift are the same ones who might stiff us..or it might actually be lost..How close of a friend are you? If I am really close I would mention that a few cards are missing and you hope that her's wasnt one of gthem.. you have to be tactful about whatever you do..because coming out and asking may put someone in an awkward position. My firned had alot of people come without gifts or a card..that surprised me alot since most were her family

Same thing happened with us. DH is convinced he got a card from one of his work buddies but we got nothing when we got home. I am going to write them a thank you card (i am not to non gift people who did not even give a card) just saying thank you for spending our day with us. If they did give us a gift it should send off bells in their heads if we don't mention it.

Re: Please help!!! Lost card at wedding!!(repost from BHB)

That same thing happened to us. The next day we were short 3 cards. I knew they would have at least given us a card. I wondered the same things as you. Wasn't sure what to do or how to bring it up. So anyway , we went on our hm and when we got back, 2 out of the 3 had mailed their card with a little note saying that they had forgotten to give it to us at the reception. So we were happy but still felt bad about the 1 unaccounted for enevelope. So I was writing the thank you cards and didn't know if is should say thank you for the gift(in case they didn't give one) or just thanks for sharing in our special day. So my mother told me to wait and see if they send something or say something. I was glad I did because the next day fed-ex'd to my house was an envelope containing a card from the missing guest. It said we had such a good time at your wedding(too good of a time) that we forgot to give you the envelope. Then he brought his suit to to the dry cleaners and said the dry cleaner returned the card that he forgot to take out of his suit pocket. SO I was glad that I waited 1 more day because it worked out perfectly. If I had said thank you for your generous gift he would have thought I was crazy and I would have looked probably stupid.

So I guess if you have some time maybe you could wait it out a little more.

I asked her about it. She didn't give me a card. She will when she gets paid.

I am just happy she isn't offended with me asking.

Hi Ann! I've been writing the review as I waited for my proofs. I just got the proofs today. I will look at them tonight, and scan some for Monday!!!!

My computer isn't hooked up yet at home.
