I really feel I need to respond to this. I am a regular but changed my name for this post for a few reasons. We all read that Yabbobay was recognized on this site by some of her students so she can no longer post. On the same note, Many of us have posted pix of ourselves and hubbys. It is really nice to see what everyone looks like, however, being the wife of a law enforcer, I would NEVER post a pix of him in his uniform and post on the internet where he worked. It is extremely dangerous. I can't stress this enough! It would be very easy for anyone who has a vandetta against anyone in the NYPD to do a search and find out a lot of personal information on both of you. It would be very easy to do a search and find out when, where, and what vendors you are using. In adition, his name is clearly legible on his uniform which make him and you an even easier target.

I am guilty of posting pix of my husband as well. I was very stupid and put pix of my whole bridal party on here but after reading Yabbobays I realized that if students at her school coud figure her out what could some sicko's out there be capable of. This board gets very addicting and we often reveal personal information about ourselves. But this is too personal.

I know what is is like to be the wife of an officer and you should really take extra precautions. I strongly urge you to take that picture off. I am sure your husband would agree.

I don't know. I have enjoyed getting to know many of the ladies here, and have also used the community as a great source of information related to house hunting, as well as many other newlywed related things. I really believe this community is extremely valuable - I would even love to work for LIWeddings.

I certainly hope that my pathetic ramblings about my wedding have helped many of the brides to be!
Maybe I'll just cut back on my usage, and post only general wedding info. But for sure I'm going to limit the amount of personal info I share.

Stef, I didn't think you cared that much I am sure we'll still be seeing each other occasionally through Michele.

Claud and anyone else considering leaving: I know everyone's a bit freaked out by what happened to Yabbo, but actually, we really don't even know the full story. I think we're all letting our imaginations get the best of us because of the sick world we live in these days. What I'm trying to say is this, yes, the internet can be a really scary thing especially when you have all these wackjobs out there, but as somebody mentioned in an earlier post, this website is all about weddings -- brides-to-be and newlyweds and then parenting. I highly doubt that some wacko is lurking around watching us and waiting to strike -- if anything, it would be some jilted ex-fiance who knows her ex's new squeeze is on this site!!! LOL (trying to add some much needed levity to this, sorry)

So, please, go back and delete whatever you feel uncomfortable with in your past posts, but don't leave for good -- then you're letting them (whoever they are) win and that's not fair to you! Or us since we want to hear your opinions/suggestions etc. You can continue to post, but don't get too personal!

I have to say that during my planning, I didn't post, and really didn't start posting until I was a newlywed. But when I went through my hell of a miscarriage in September, you girls gave me so much support and showed such caring, which helped ease the pain a bit and helped me through a really difficult time in my life. And for that, I'm forever grateful.

I'm not going anywhere, nor do I have any problems posting pictures of myself, but being that Pat does what he does, I feel that posting his picture (in uniform, no less) is asking for trouble. I have enough bad luck as it is, I don't need to go looking for more!

I can appreciate everyone's concern, but I will continue to post pics. It is a fun thing to do. I love showing my wedding pics, and if someone is asking me to show them, then it makes me happy to share. I am not a worrier, maybe I should be but I am not. I would never post my address or work place, but to worry that someone has my name and picture? When I get my film developed, the film guy has my pic, name address, usually check card # after I pay, if I don't worry about that guy, I can't worry about what goes on online.

I wish I was able to attend the umbertos gathering. I would show up in a blond wig, big dark sunglasses and a trench coat - to protect my true identity of course

My whole reason for this post was not to stop people from posting pictures or to create cocerns about kidnapping but to say that someone posted a pic of their husband who is a NYC cop in his uniform with his name on the badge. That is dangerous.
