One of the best bakeries I have ever had is A Taste of Home in N.Bellmore/East meadow border. her stuff is amazing! There is usually a line out the door on holidays and she has gotten so popular, she is now shipping her stuff all over too. Hope this helps.
I used St honore Pastry shop in Port Washington. They were amazing - I also used them for my shower and groom's cake. I still get lots of comments about how amazing the cake was. They are a small pastry shop but their prices are much better than any of the other bakeries around. I also did tastings and found that in addition to being cheaper they tasted better too...lol
They provide the cakes and pasteries for many of the north shore country clubs. We got their name from someone my mother works with.

You all had such beautiful cakes. I'm so jealous! Every time I look at pics of our cake it pisses me off that it was not a thing like what it was supposed to be - have to say it tasted great though. May2004 - I LOVE yours!!!

The same thing happened with ours. I sent a picture of the cake to the bakery (Milleridge) and although the design was right, the colors were off. They were so pale you could hardly see the design on the cake so it looked really plain. Thank goodness for the flowers on top from John at Flower Michele.
The cake was absolutely delicious though!

Mine was from the Milleridge Bakery. They do thr cakes for thr Milleridge & George Washington Manor , but they are a regular open to the public bakery.
It was delicous & mine was plain looking, but I wanted it that way ( all ivory). The buttercream flowers & basket weave turned out great, I thought.
I have better pictures at home. . .

I absolutely HATED my cake.
It was not what I wanted on anyway. I hated that is was a 3 tier cake when it was supposed to be a 4 tier cake and I hated the way M&F Florist decorated it.
I look at Beth's (nov04LIbride) compared to my cake and I am like what happened?
I don't like Audreys and I would NEVER use them for any other events. I should have went with my gut and used Benkerts, we have been going there for years.
But the cake was included in the package.
