Just curious..

And for how long?

I had mine for 6 1/2 years and then I had retainers for 2 1/2....

yep! from 11-14years old. Got them off RIGHT before highschool!

I had a retainer to spread my palette on top from 3rd grade to 5th grade (you know the one where you turn the key once a week and it gets wider and hurts like hell? Yeah....my mouth isn't big enough for all my teeth. It was only on top though, so my bottom teeth still don't fit.

Then I had braces 6th grade - 8th grade I think....which was fine, and wore my retainers sometimes even now.....but my bottom teeth are screwed up again b/c they can't all it in my mouth....I hate teeth....

i had the palette expander too!! THE WORST!!!!!

I had braces as a kid... but recently got them AGAIN when I was about 30 (FUNNY HUH?)

my teeth are great now but if I dont wear my retainer regularly they start to move...I paid almost 5000 for those suckers they BETTER NOT MOVE

nope. my bottom teeth are perfectly aligned, but i have one tooth on top that is turned (I refer to this one as 'Snaggle Tooth'). Wasn't enough for my parents to drop $$ on my mouth when my siblings had bigger problems with theirs.

No I never wore braces. I had a dentist try to push my mother to get me braces, but his reasons were only cosmetic. So my mother let me choose if I wanted to have the small gap in my front teeth push together, I told her I could live with a gap. And that was the end of it.

Yes - I had them to fix my overbite and to close up spaces. Was it worth it...probably not! I hated wearing my retainer and so my teeth shifted and small spaces came back! So I got my teeth bonded and wa-la no more spaces. As for the overbit...its still there and I don't care anymore!

Nope and my teeth are not perfect. I looked into Invisalign recently but Im not sure I can afford 5800 dollars right now. If I wasnt so vain, Id go the metal mouth route since its covered by DH's insurance but I just cant do it.

I did in junior high for 9 months to straighten them, but as an adult I got the Invisalign which I loved. My teeth were so spaced out and I never wanted my wedding pictures to show my bad spaces, so while dating my DH I got the invisalign and I am so happy I did. I still wear the retainer at night, but not every night, about 3-4 times a week.

I had the same thing...I thought I was the only one I knew who had that, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had the retainer for a year I think, then braces for probably a year or two after that. Some of my bottom teeth have moved over the years and my dentist once tried to up sell me on invisalign...I really don't think it's necessary for me. All the retainers and braces left weird stains on my teeth that the least of my worries is a few crooked teeth.
