I had mine for 6 1/2 years and then I had retainers for 2 1/2....

This is me too! I didn't have braces either, but I wouldnt consider that my teeth are perfect!

i did ... for about 4 years.
from around 9 - 13 years old
it was awful. my brother terrorized me and called me all kinds of names. his favorite was 'metal mouth'
my mouth was 'overcrowded' ... i had SEVEN teeth pulled in one visit ... and i was such a baby that the oral surgeon called my house that night to check up on me
i lived on children's liquid tylenol after orthodontist visits because i didn't know how to swallow pills yet ... and i hated those rubber bands more than life itself
i hardly ever wore my retainer afterwards.

i did - for about a year and a half.
they were messed UP (imo) but my dentist made them really nice!

Yes and I wearing them right now!!! I have had them ofr a year and a half and hope they will be coming off next month. They suck!

I had a retainer to spread my palette on top from 3rd grade to 5th grade (you know the one where you turn the key once a week and it gets wider and hurts like hell? Yeah....my mouth isn't big enough for all my teeth. It was only on top though, so my bottom teeth still don't fit.
Then I had braces 6th grade - 8th grade I think....which was fine, and wore my retainers sometimes even now.....but my bottom teeth are screwed up again b/c they can't all it in my mouth....I hate teeth....

ugghhh, i had the same thing! i had to wear it for months and it suc ked!!, it was sooooo hard to clean properly. i wore braces for about 3 years and then had to wear retainers for another 2 (which i only wore for a couple of months) and my teeth are kinda sucky again. i hated them!

I wore braces for 4 years from 10-14. My mom always yelled at me and told me to wear my retainer. I should have listened because my front 2 teeth definitely moved. I might get invisalign to correct it!

Same here!!! They said WAY back my teeth did not require braces... now... I have nice teeth according to the hygenist .. but not perfect according to the Dentist at my last visit. Do you want braces???? You think I want braces now??? Who is going to pay for them I felt like telling him..

Yeah for about 3 years...and then I never really wore my retainer afterwards so my teeth shifted a bit, and now i got a new one made for me a few months ago that i currently wear at bedtime.

yes and i had them for part of HS which was horrible. prob for about 2 yrs but at least they were the porcelain kind so they were a little less obvious. never really wore my retainer like i was supposed to. i still have one of those permanent ones behind my lower teeth.

I got them in 4th grade. I was the first person to get them. I swore I was hot shiiiit lol.
Until I got them off in the middle of 10th grade. i hated it. Then 2 years of retainers.
You'd never tell I had braces. My teeth are still all jacked. Braces really effed my teeth up.

I had braces from 8th-11th grade (2.5 years) and now at 26 years old, I too still wear my retainer to bed every night. So does DH.

No- but my teeth are def. not perfect. I actually should of wore braces but decided not to because it was my lower teeth and they really werent that bad
