We didn't 'officially' live together before. His things were not at my apartment but he was every night.

We did not live together and we have been together 10 years

Many said that we should have, but after all the time we had been together and had done just about everything - I wanted SOMETHING to be new and a surprise.

It has been a month now since we got married and once we got over the initial glitches all is well now.

We didn't live together before, but I would have had no problem with it either way, we just chose not to. There were no surprises, we both knew exactly what it would be like living together and we were 100% right.

I lived with Alan for about 2 years before we got married, and spent a lot of weekend together before then (we dated for 4 years). I think that it is a very personal choice, but it is true when Sonistef said that is a non-sense to say that it is not in 'God's plan' ... it sounds like something that my southamerican Grandma and her age buddies would say ... and I always hated such remarks. I think that life now days is very different than two generations ago, and that also includes the reality of most religions ... so just be happy, and don't even think about those meaningless comments.

I agree 100%. I didn't live with DH either. Not b/c of God but b/c of me. It was 100% MY choice and I don't regret it AT ALL.

yes we did, for about 14 months, and it was great! got all the annoying stuff out of the way beforehand.

But I am glad now that we are married I don't feel so guilty.....I was raised Catholic and got a lot of grief over this...

We did not live together before we got married.

We dated for 7 years and had been on vacations together, so we had a taste of living together. After the wedding, we did have a bit of an adjustment period, but overall everything worked out well.

I say to each their own - it's whatever works for that couple at that time. I'm sure that if one of us had our own apartments, the other would have eventually moved in anyway.

Hubby had a house before we got married, and could have moved in, but I wanted to wait. I slowly moved my stuff in.
I still have stuff at my parents house

We lived together for a 2 years before getting married -- and I look at it this way -- everyone told me the first year of marriage is the hardest -- well we got the first year over with before we were even married. When we came back from our honeymoon -- it was smooth sailing!!

We lived together for a year before we even got engaged and for about 2 1/2 years before we got married. I think it's the greatest thing we could have done and I feel that it has made the transition to marriage much easier.
