Quick background, I take the bus to work and walk 1 block to the bus stop. Buses usually come frequently except when it shows or rains and then there is usually a wait. Once I am in the city I prefer to walk outside unless its below 35 and then I usally take subway. Last year I wore black sneakers all winter and sometimes uggs but I don't like to wear my uggs in nasty weather and don't like wear them every day.
So I decided to pick out some on sale $40 columbia boots. Dh got mad and asked 3 times if I really needed the snow boots. ***?! He didn't get it that my uggs are not for every day use and not for slushy nasty weather. He said u don't need uggs and those boots. I had a tantrum in the store and well I ended up getting them but am still pissed. Am I right here?!?!!!

Tell DH that Uggs get ruined when there wet, so you shouldn't wear them in the snow. Plus he should be thankful you only wanted $40 boots, when you could have wanted more expensive ones lol.. So I agree with you, you needed a different snow boot!

Yes you need both. I don't wear my Uggs in nasty weather -- I weather proof them every season but still unless I am just running to and from the car I don't wear them when it is gross out.
$40 is nothing for snow boots.

Thx. I am looking at these new boots and wondering if they r def snow boots. They r suede-ish and waterproof with nice treads on the bottom. Well I like them and hope they keep my feet warm!!!!
I also still need to order my new uggs (sent old ones back due to defect)

i have snow boots and rain boots and fake uggs. you need snow boots and/ or rain boots in the city.

Now that I commute to the city I pretty much am able to get whatever I need. Most times DH tells me to get things because he's worried that I'm so far from home. I'm glad you got them!

I agree Uggs aren't really snow boots, but I think you got a great deal on the boots if they are for snow/slush weather! I was looking into a new pair and they were def more than $40!

I agree that you shouldn't wear uggs in rainy or snowy weather. $40 is worth it to keep your uggs lasting longer

I personally think you do need them, he should be happy the ones you chose are only $40.00. but do not feel guilty for getting them, you need them.

that is a great point. I have gotten mad at Dh in the store for buying things. He doesn't realize why but its bc I either bought it for him already or it was my plan to buy it and he ALWAYS does this to me. Somehow he always ends up buying something I want to get him and it frustrates me. And when I try to convince subtly by making up reasons why he shouldn't get it, he doesn't get the point.
ANd wow i am surprised reading this thread, but uggs arent good in nasty weather? dont know why but i thought they were lol.

Jenna, you absolutely need BOTH!!!! Now if you wanted $400 snow boots I could see him being a little concerned....but I think you are fine.
I'm goign to start a new job in LIC and i have to start taking the LIRR (right now I drive to CT) and I was thinking if I even have snow boots or anything to wear in bad weather.

I live upstate now so it snows way more. I have 3 uggs and two snow boots. DH use to say why do you need so many boots and I explained what you just said. Also, one night he had to go to the car and he put on my uggs and came in and said 'Now I really know why you have so many'. He has taken over my oldest pair b/c he has stretched them. Don't ever let him know I told you!

Thanks for the help. I was just so mad the other night because I really wanted the boots and he made me feel so guilty for buying them. Meanwhile he had a few shirts and pjs picked out. It was just such an irritating moment and I could not get through to him so I came right on LIW to get some opinions!

Uggs are NOT snow boots, they simply keep your feet warm. If it's raining or snowing and they get wet, your feet get wet. What is so hard for men to understand about that?

I dunno? But he just wasnt getting it and I wanted to scream. He kept saying you dont need 2 uggs and snow boots...what the point. I really could not break the communcation barrier.
