POLL- Do you think your guests were......

Just curious. We thought our guests (overall, definately not the two people that didn't give anything - not even a card

) were VERY generous. We were actually shocked at how much we got at our wedding (happily of course

)

Honestly I did not go into this thing expecting to make tons of $$$$$. I will say that we had a little of everything- very generous, average and a handful of stiffers

I think people have no clue when it comes to weddings and unfortunately some of those people where at my wedding.

I think for the most part our guests were generous to very generous. DH and I actually felt guilty when we were opening our cards. The gifts and $$ was NOT what was important to us. We were flattered by people's generousity...but I am sure like everyone we had a few stingy people...(I don't mean that rude - just based on what we gave to other people when we went to their weddings or what we know about their lifestyles - we were surprised how 'un-generous' they were.)

For the most part, we got what we expected. In some cases we were touched by peoples generosity and in others we were shocked at peoples cheapness. But 90% of our guests gave us what we expected.

I would say there were a handful of very generous people, most people surprised us with not being generous at all. We totally did not do well in the gift area. But, we still had the best wedding!

one of my brothers & one of Johns sisters were VERY VERY generous!!! We couldn't get over it!

But my filthy rich cousin gave us $75 & a candle! gee thanks!!

I can't complain. I know all our gifts were what people could afford to give. Whether it was $50 or $1000, we were very thankful....

We were very shocked by the generosity of some of our guests. Can't say we had any 'stiffers'.

For the most part our guests gave an average gift, there were others that I was suprised at (not happily) such as my own mother. But I planned the wedding that I wanted and never once thought I would even make some of it back.

I honestly felt that people could have given us a lot more especially knowing their professions. Those were even some of the people that came empty handed. I must admit that I did have some very generous people also.
