POLL: Get together for 1st anniversary?

POLL: Get together for 1st anniversary?

tacky or fun? We were going to have people here, eat our cake, order a new cake and have drinks, etc. for everyone.

We invited our friends over and some of the bridal party people and they're all excited. When I told my mom, I could tell she wasn't all that into it.

I think it sounds fun, but if we were going to do it I think I would keep it to friends and the BP. Don't know if my folks or DH's folks would be that into it.

I think it sounds like fun but if I were to do something like that I wouldn't do it on our actual anniversary - - I would want to celebrate just the two of us first. Then maybe have the GTG the next day.

I think this is a grea idea. Save your day for just you 2, and then have your friends over the next day.

DH and I on the other hand on our anniversary went to a brunch held by our parents then spent the rest of the day just the 2 of us. But I wished we had the entire day to ourselves.

We've actually been considering it since right after the wedding, since my bridal party didn't really get to socialize as much as they wanted to. We'll probably make it something joint with my 25th birthday, since they're right around the same time.

The invitations have been planned as such:

'Rachel's Turning 25?
The Greenspans have been married for a year?
OMGWTFBBQ!'

So, we're thinking about having a barbecue, just so we can print those invitations.
