DH hardly ever goes out. I actually encourage him to go out with his friends either on the weekends or a weeknight.

in the 2 1/2 yrs we've lived together, he's gone out once without me. a co-worker of his invited him to a car show.

he hates not being with me, and I'm very ok with that!!

I'd say once a month. Which I'm fine with. It gives me the chance to hang out with my girls and drink some wine.

Mine goes sporadically, sometimes not for months at a time. Usually it is when I have to work late.

Hardly ever...mainly it is if he has a gig that I don't feel like going to...I probably have more school get togethers (like last night) or girls nights than he does boys nights but we try to schedule the times we are going out w/o each other on same night if possible.

He used to go out approx. once a week with work people and stay out until around 11ish because he worked in Jersey City and it took forever to get home. He would go out with his friends approx. once a month. But we just moved to Chicago and we don't really know anyone, so he hasn't been going out at all since we got here.

He plays poker every Weds night - and I LOVE it ! I'm actually annoyed the nights they decide not to play
As far as going out w/ 'the guys' on the weekends, whenever something comes up - if he wants to go, he goes. -
The only time it really bothers me if it's a last minute thing and I don't have time to make other plans ...... For some reason HIS friends are ALWAYS together, and mine, well, we need 2 months notice to get a date together !!
Sometimes I welcome the 'alone time' -

very rarely. there were occasions where he would meet up with guy friends (to go see Star Wars, or some other guy thing) but for the most part, we are pretty inseperable. (might I also mention, we are total homebodies - we would rather be in jammies watching HBO and drinking wine than out drinking. Just our preference.)

About once a month I get drinks with a girlfriend, and he is happy to pick us up and be the Designated Driver.

I don't think you can base this on other peoples social habits though, it completely depends on the type of couple you are, what your social lives are like, etc...

If it is important to you that you go out together every once in a while, or that he not come home at 3am every night, articulate that, and see if he is not willing to set an agreement on how often you hang together vs. seperate. There should be ground rules for late night though - I do think it is respectful to know where the other is and know around what time they will be home. I would not be happy if DH was coming in really late several nights in a row and partying hard core w/o me.

I would say almost never, it's very rare he would go out without me. Depending upon the situation, once in a blue moon he will call me when his co-workers are going out for a drink after work. He'll go for an hour or two and come home, sometimes I meet him at the bar near his job. Other than that he doesn't go out without me. We also have the same friends so if there is some type of outing I am usually there with him unless it's a bachelor party, of course I wouldn't be there.

mine never goes out. we go out together for dinner and for family functions, but not much else. We are both too busy.
