Poll: Please help me decide?

While visitng my grandfather this weekend, his VCR broke. He has the kind where its 2 VHS in one (you can watch VHS tape & also make a copy of it).

Which should we buy? We want to buy one tonight & mail it before he can go buy a new one himself.

how about option 3 - VHS & DVD with dvd recorder? That way he has the newest technology and retains the functionality of making copies.

I bought my parents the DVD/VCR combo which they are happy with since they mostly use VCR tapes but had gotten our wedding videos on DVD

Sometimes older people don't like change...so they may not like that. Does he often copy his tapes?

Get him what he is used to - I like the DVD/VHS this way he has what he had and it gives him the option to watch DVD's when he is comfortable enough to attempt it.
