Ok in your opinion do you feel its better to be overdressed or underdressed? I ask this because a few weeks ago I posted about evening wear, my DH has a surprise for me on Valentines day and told me to wear evening wear. This surprise also involves two other couples. I bought this dress but it doesnt look dressy enough, looks like a dress I would wear to a sweet 16
Then I decided maybe I'll just wear the dress I wore for my E-party. Its pretty simple, a long black matte jersey halter dress, but its def. dressier (this pic shows the only detail on the dress)
Now I get a call from one of the other girls going and she is wearing a skirt and blouse as is the other girl....but DH is telling me evening wear and the 3 guys are all wearing suits. So do I go in my eparty dress and maybe be overdressed or go in the other dress and maybe be underdressed?

Re: Poll: Underdressed or Overdressed?
I think the new dress is very pretty, it looks dressy to me.
You look gorgeous in the pic of you and your DH. That is a great picture

Definitely be overdressed. It doesn't hurt to be overdressed to a gathering which people can only compliment you not bad mouth. I'd rather be overdressed and constantly received compliments as whenever I'm underdressed I get badmouthed about my etiquette and 'how to dress' manners.
usually I would say overdress....but I agree that I would need to know more to wear the rhinestones...but i think dress #1 is so great and can play either side...
can you show both to DH and tell him to pick the one he thinks is most appropriate?

I was raised by a mother who always said there is no such thing as overdressed. It is never wrong to look good. You don't need to wear a ball gown to a casual event but a nice dress is not too much for a special occasion. I love both dresses but I would wear the new one.
