Poll-what is your relationship like with your inlaws?
I am curious to know how everyone else gets along with their inlaws.
I found that after getting married there were alot of issues that came up with my inlaws that I did not have to deal with before. I thought since I had a relationship with his parents for several years prior to getting married, we would not go through all the inlaw drama.
I get along great with my father-in-law. There are a few things that come up every now and then. But nothing that can not be resolved.
But it is taking a tremendous amount of patience to deal with his mother!
So ladies...what is your relationship like and what advice would you give regarding inlaw relationships?

Great...couldn't get any better
this is for us...both ways too...we adore and are adored by each others parents...I also grew up in a family where both sets of grandparents were close friends...
DH was raised by 3 women...who all call themselves his mother and you would think I would have a tough barrier...but nope...they all hate his brother's wife...so it makes things easier for me
I called my MIL today and she was so happy...and asked that I call her more often

I am very lucky cmpared to some of my friends' horror stories..I LOVE my mother in law! My Father in law is passed on, but my mother in law is one amazing woman, she is such a happy person and when you talk about someone lighting up a room when they walk in it, she fits thet description. She is kind and giving and very nice to me. She always tells me how she didnt have a nice mother in law so she makes sure I have one!!! My sister in law is also great, but we only get to see her once or twice a year, but she is my age and we would be friends if we werent sister in laws. I think I am very lucky.

I am also very lucky. I have incredible in-laws, and we have a wonderful relationship. They have treated me like a daughter for a very long time.
DH also has a great relationship with my parents as well.
We both have it really easy when it comes to In-Laws.

i don't have any complaints!!! my MIL is a dream come true - she is single, so she has her own life and her own activities. she has a better social calendar than DH and I!!!!! she calls about once a week to chat, but that's about it.
my FIL i have not seen or heard from since the wedding. there was some drama with his new wife not being invited to the wedding.

Everything is great on both ends, with the exception of my FIL, he is not fond of me.
However it is all good. I LOVE my MIL, AND BIL'S, while my DH adores my family as well.

Unfortunatly its not good at all.. My MIL was a BEAST the entire time we were planning the wedding and it really put a strain on my relationship with her and my DH relationship with his own mother. She has made me cry more than anyone else in my life. At one point we swore we weren't going to talk to her after the wedding, but of course we realized we could not do that! It really upsets me. I think a lot of it has to do with religious differences. I am worried that once we have children it is going to become an all out war with her, what we are planning on doing and what she wants us to do. I envy those of you who have great relationships with the in-laws!
