The story wasnt exaggerated and definitely ended up being more than a scratch. Here is a just a paragraph from the article explaining how badly she was hurt. You can read the link for more info. I hope he doesnt get away with it just because he is a celebrity

More details are emerging about the alleged assault, including reports from TMZ — which had erroneously reported on Monday that Brown was being charged with assault with a deadly weapon in the case — that unnamed law enforcement sources described Rihanna's injuries as 'horrific.' Photos of the wounds reportedly show major contusions on both sides of the 20-year-old singer's face, with serious swelling and bruising, including a split lip and a bloody nose, as well as bite marks on one of her arms and several fingers

I have friends on LJ, Myspace and Facebook saying she deserved it. And they post ridiculous .gifs with her face all bruised. WHAT?? The crazy part is that its mostly women (or should I say immature girls) that are posting this. NO MAN has the right to lay a finger on a woman, regardless of what shes done. And no one but them really knows what went on so how does one say she 'deserves it' without really knowing the situation. I don't know for some reason think that because she's a celebrity that she's not human. Do you know how hard it is for a woman of domestic violence to deal with that situation? Now imagine Rihanna having to deal with it in the spotlight and having the whole world know that a punk like Chris Brown beat her. I personally think that more should be done to Chris and that he gets the same punishment any other man would get for hitting a woman. He's a major douche and I hope he loses all his endorsements and money. He's lost all of the little respect I already had for him.

It's so sad that these young girls think it's ok what he did! and to say she deserved it?! I really hope for their sake they do alot of growing up... there are sick people out there that prey on young people with this mentality.

totally agree!!! DH is a big strong man, but he would NEVER EVER hit me. He's too gentle and has respect not only for ME, but women in general. I don't understand the kind of guys who hurt women. It totally disgusts me. I could never be with anybody I couldn't trust. That is some scary stuff. I really hope that Rihanna isn't stupid enough to go back to him or anybody else LIKE him. She deserves better - ALL WOMEN DO!
