Pork chops and beer?! UPDATED

So i want to make DH a special dinner tomorrow for his Birthday and i came across this recepie and it actually sounds good.... I was wondering if anyone has tried it?

6 pork chops
2 tablespoons steak seasoning
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce
2 onions, sliced

Sprinkle pork chops with steak seasoning. Brown both sides in skillet. After the pork chops have been browned, remove them from the pan.
Pour into skillet one can of beer. Stir around the beer until all the particles on the sides have been incorporated. Pour in barbecue sauce and place the pork chops back into the pan. Add onions and cover. Simmer on low for 1 to 2 hours.

UPDATE:

I highly recommend this meal.... the chops came out sooo juicy it was amazing!!!!! the longer you let it simmer the better it is!!!!!!

I have! You found this on allrecipes right? DH loved this! although we used the thin boneless pork chops and it was definitely too much sauce but I think if you're using big bone in pork chops it'll be just fine. You can skip the onion, it doesn't need it.

I have porkchops defrosting for tomorrow night's dinner - thanks! good to know I don't need a whole bottle of bbq - i am only making 3 so maybe I'll use 1/2 a beer and 1/2 bottle of bbq, or maybe a little less bbq?
