Prayers for my Grandma

I don't know if you all remember but a few months ago my grandma had surgery to remove a large cancerous tumor from her jaw. Since then she has been in the hospital. She was doing better for awhile but in the last week or so she has not. She has a staff infection and pneumonia. She has been on the strongest antibiotics available and is not responding to them at all. 2 days ago she put on a ventilator and her breathing was extremely labored. Today we were told that she is not going to come out of this and that the ventilator is really all that is keeping her around. My mother and her siblings have decided based on my grandmother's wishes that on Friday when the whole family can be together the ventilator will be removed.

My poor mother is a mess, she believed so much that my grandmother would be able to pull through. I feel so terrible, I hate seeing my mom look so defeated and broken and sad.

If you can please pray that my grandmother is pain free for the next 2 days and that when it is time she can pass peacefully. If you can pray for my mom too I know she would really appreciate it.

I just wanted to say how sorry I am about this. In 2001, my grandmother walked herself into a hospital b/c her throat hurt. We found out she had the very beginning stages of (very treatable) throat cancer. (she never smoked) She was scheduled for routine surgery on that coming Monday. On Friday a nurse put her IV incorrectly and she got an infection. She never made it to the surgery, she went into a coma, never woke up again, and died 3 months later. Our family was devestated. Oh that is terrible, I am so sorry. It's a funny thing, my gradmother never smoked either.
