Prayers PLEASE!!

My 91 year old Grandma fell Sunday night and fractured two bones! I was just with her on Saturday and Sunday and she was doing FANTASTIC!!! She is by far the coolest 91 year old I ever met- EXAMPLE- We were at my FSIL's Bridal Shower Sunday afternooon and my Mom got her a penis pacifer to wear and while all of my fsil's family was appalled my Grandma comes out and says 'Its SOOO small, what the hell is she gonna do with that?' I love her so much!! She went from being completely mobile (shoppping all the time, gambling trips every other month) to having bed rest for at least 2 weeks and then home care! I'm so sad!

Oh so sorry to hear that MArie! I know how difficult it is for not only the family, but the elderly as well when they get up there in age and things don't work as well as they used to, or break more easily. My grandma used to get so frustrated. But at least your grams know you love her and get to spend time with her. She sounds like a pistol I see you now clearly as a 91 year old after the pacifer thing

I'm SO sorry Marie!!! My grandma was 98 when she passed away but before that she sounds like she was very much like yours - fiesty, hilarious and full of life. It s*cks that she has her independence taken away from her for a little while, but I'm sure she'll be determined to get better fast. The best thing you can do is spend lots of time talking to her and seeing her so she doesn't get depressed - that's a common thing with these kinds of injuries. My grandma broke her hip a few years ago and had to have emergency surgery, and despite her age she pulled through AMAZINGLY well. She's lucky to have a great granddaughter like you! Don't worry too much I'll keep her in my thoughts

my grandmother and i are SO close and shes been having so many problems lately. on top of sciatic issues and the pain shooting down her leg bc of it, she then had an angina flareup bc of the atrocious pain, and last week.... the kicker.... a massage therapist cracker her rib!!! after she repeatedly warned them that shes so brittle. its so hard to see these things happen more often as ppl get old. my mommom is soooo active, at her age she works as a makeup artist and promotional model, sells fragrances, does makeovers at Bloomies, Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor, etc...and its been hard for her not to be able to be as active as she has been!

THANKS!!! You just made me feel so much better!! My biggest fear is that this will crush her spirits and then she'll get worse!! Shes so active and tons of fun!! And this has got to be killing her! I'm also afraid pnemonia will set in as it often does after someone of that age injures themselves! Shes the best! Unfortunately I can't just see her since she lives in FL! I'm hoping to get there in a few weeks!! My mom and my aunt are heading there right after X-mas- luckily my Grandma has my other Aunt!

I'm so sorry Marie!! But God willing that fiesty spirit will get her through this sooner than most 91 year olds!! She sounds like a strong woman, she will get better and be back to her spunky self!!
