Pregant Girls or TTC girls.....

So I'm not just about ready to start TTC but maybe by the end of the year....anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone has read some good pregancy books...looking to start some reading about what to expect (which i know is a book lol)

I read 'What to expect BEFORE you're expecting' by Heidi Murkoff.

I felt like it was really informative without being too much.

On the TTC board the girls like 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility'. But I feel like if I bought that, DH would be like 'HUH???' For some reason, the title of that book scares me.

To be honest, though, pre pregnancy planning is a lot of common sense-don't smoke, don't drink, eat a healthy balanced diet, exercise, and start taking prenatal vitamins. You and DH should get physicals and bloodwork checked and any dental work done before getting PG.

Thebump.com is an awesome resource and answers every question that any book could answer for you and more.

ITA agree with jen, if you are looking to get pregnant i would make sure ou are taking take of yourself BEFORE you get prego. i think my pregnancy (which was fantastic) would have been a little easier if i had taken better care of myself before i got pregnant. either way, don't read TOO many books, everyone is different and i got a little stressed with OVER informing myself good luck!!

Im not readiing anything and just going with my Drs advice.....'dont stress and try to let it happen...dont get all wrapped up in the tests and stuff' .....so that's my plan.

I eat healthy now and exercise so Im not changing anything and def not stopping drinking cause I will have 9mons of no wine and thats enough!!!!!!

This is my number one suggestion. It is so informative and is even great for those not ttc. What to Expect Before You're Expecting was ok, I felt like most of what they talked about I already knew, but that just could be me and my crazy researcher self. I also just started reading YOU:Having a Baby. Dr. Oz is one of the authors.

Oh one more, Fertility Facts. It's a quick read just a bunch of tips with short explanations. Great for before you really want to delve into the ttc world.

I recommend keeping good records of your cycle... I was never any good at that until I started using a fertility monitor. It was able to pinpoint my exact ovulation time and I was able to keep track of exactly how many days my cycle was.

I would just try not to stress about it and maybe do a little reading on how to know when you ovulate. Talk to your doctor when you are ready and he/she can prescribe prenatals.

I stopped taking BC 2 months before the wedding. It took 3 months for my cycle to regulate itself, which is normal. We took the stance that we weren't trying, but that we weren't not trying and whatever happens happens. I got PG a month after the wedding. We are very fortunate that it happened for us so quickly and I have to admit that I will go on the TTC boards on LIF and its like another language over there.
