I haven't been around for a while. But I have a question that I need some light shed on.
Since all of you are now married and the wedding is over, how would you have felt if one of your Bridemaids was very pregnant the day of your wedding? And if any of you had a pregnant maid, what did they wear and how did you feel.
My wedding is done and over with, but I'm looking to have another baby and I've been asked to be in a bridal party. No matter which way I calculate it, I will be pregnant for her wedding.
I don't think I would mind, but that's me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't care honestly. I think its one of those neurotic things if people do-like they want the BP to be a perfect 'backdrop' for them. If you're her friend and she loves you she should want you in no matter what you look like.
But you can always ask her how she feels if you are concerned she might be upset. (if she does she's just experience bridal wackiness! not your fault)
ETA: Alot of places are making maternity BM dresses now. If she wants you in but chooses a dress you can't wear, maybe you can find something similar by another designer that she okays or have it made for you.

I wouldn't care. I'd be happy for you. But I have seen posts from brides who think it is a 'travesty'
Case in point:
I was in a wedding years ago & one of our friends, also a BM, told the bride she was preg. The bride said this:
'Oh, don't worry. My photographer is AMAZING. We'll just have him airbrush out your belly.'
My friend dropped out of the BP.

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
My MOH and one of my BMs were pregnant at my wedding ... both were about 3 months.
I couldn't have been more thrilled and overjoyed for them .... I considered it a blessing, and hoped it would bring DH & I some sort of luck when we are ready to try for our own children.
They ordered their dresses a little bigger -- the same dress as the other girls (they were A-Line with a sash at the waist), and the seamstress just hemmed it from the waist, pulling it up higher, rather than hemming it at the bottom.
They both stood for the whole ceremony ... I had chairs available for them in the first row just in case they felt like the needed to sit. Turns out one of the non-pregnant girls was the one who needed to sit!
But I would definitely tell the bride way ahead of time that you are trying for another baby, and hope she will be understanding and not expect you to put your life on hold for her wedding day.
Keep in mind though, that there's no guarantee that you would be pregnant ... I hope it all works out for you, but unfortunately as we all know, trying is no guarantee of success

i would never expect my BP to put their lives on hold just for my one day--i'd say 'congrats! that's awesome' and start hunting down maternity dresses for my BM

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. One of my BMs and my MOH sister were 7 months pregnant for my wedding. I was absolutely thrilled for both of them!

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
My MOH was seven months pregnant and another BM was 4 months at the time. The BM wore the same dress as everyone else. She was definitely showing, but hadn't 'popped' yet so her belly still fit in the dress....she ordered a larger size to begin with so she was fine. MY MOH had already popped and her belly just didn't fit...luckily she's only 5 ft tall so the seamstress just pulled up the waistline on the dress to under her boobs and made the dress and empire and I have to say, it looked great.

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
I didn't care at all!!! my sister was pregnant with my nephew at my wedding!
She actually had ordered her dress before she knew she was pregnant, so we had to re-order. We ordered a maternity specific dress for her, but if you ask the ladies at the bridal place they will let you know what size they think you should order. My sisters friend was also pregnant at her wedding, she wore a regular dress just added two panels on the sides, couldn't even tell!
I love that I can say that my nephew was at my wedding
I think personally it's pathetic if people have a problem with pregnant bridesmaids....is your life suppose to stop b/c someone is getting married. (just my opinion, don't flame me anyone haha)

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
I had 2 pregnant BM's, but they were both pretty early and their dresses were pretty big. They left their alterations for the last minute to make sure their dresses fit. They have really cute maternity BM dresses out now. If your friend has an issue w/ it, I would just be a guest.

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
I had 2 pregnant bridesmaids in my bridal party. 1 was about 7 months and the other was only about 2 months. I honestly did not care at all that they were pregnant. My friend who was about 7 months asked if i still wanted her to be in the bridal party. of course I did.....I asked her if she was up to it and it all worked out great

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
I wouldn't care. I asked someone late into the engagement who was pregnant at the time I asked and she was be 3 months pp at my wedding. There was a chance the dress wouldn't fit but I didn't care. Nor would I have cared if she was pregnant at the time of the wedding.
I have told a couple of friends of mine who may be close to engagement and have told me that I would be in the BP that I may be prego and as long as they didn't mind having a prego BM than I was fine with it as well.
I would hope if she was a true friend she wouldn't mind either!

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
no one was prego in my BP, but it really wouldn't have mattered to me either way. thats life, ya know. and i chose the girls i did bc i really wanted them to be a special part of my day, so as long as they were comfortable being that pregnant and in the party, no problems at all.
to be honest, i just never understood the concerns about what it looks like in pics when i would see posts about that. thats just me personally but my last concern is how the girls i care about will 'make my pics look.' and whats wrong w/ a pregnant woman in pics? beautiful!
your comfort is the most impt part. if youre in the BP, im sure you can work w. the bride to find a dress you really like and feel good in.

Re: Pregnant Bridesmaid
My MOH was preggo for my wedding. She found out right as she ordered her dress [which was different than the BMs.] She looked fantastic the day of, though she was only 4 and 1/2 months along with a tiny belly. I would not have minded had she been 9 months though. I would talk to the bride and tell her that you may be preggo for the big day and see what she says.
