Proactiv

Anyone use Proactiv?
Did you find that upon initial usage you broke out more? If so, did this disappear
My days of bad and painful acne have returned as a result of using pro activ .

hmm, I have been using proactiv for over 5 years & really it is the only product that keeps my skin clear.

During my makeup trials, my MU person was telling me NOT to use proactiv again until after the wedding b/c it dries out the skin & my skin was very dry. Maybe it is making your skin too dry & you are breaking out from it? Don't use it everyday. Maybe just try it every 2 or 3 days?

so many ppl swear by proactiv and its the one thing that ever helped them. i didn't really have that experience. no real improvement. but that was years ago. maybe i should try it again. i have heard though that your skin will get worse before it gets better. give it some more time!

for now, i love my Neutrogena Rapid Clear Oil-Control Foaming Cleanser!

I thought I heard one's skin gets worse before it gets better. I would rather my skin dry out (I have oily skin) than have these blemishes that hurt.

I'll have to pick up that cleanser next time I'm at CVS. Thanks

Everything about it sucs! That is why.. yes it is drying and you break out more from it.. I have never had a moment where I cleared up later

anyway.. Different strokes for different folks

I will FM you what I am doing .. it isn't wonderful.. I am under a
Physicians' care

My next step is more extreme. I might ask about on here to be honest. I am on the fence about it.

i know a lot of ppl have bad experiences with proactiv... but i LOVE it - its the only thing that keeps my face clear

and yes - it does have a tendancy to dry your skin - but seriously, i find that with ANY cleanser!! i think it more has to do with the type of SKIN you have, not what you are using... you just have to always keep yourself mostiorized (sp?). right after i put on the last step of proactiv, i put a dab of oil of olay dry skin cream on my dry trouble areas - that system has been working out great for about 3 years now!!!

the ONLY time i'll get a pimple or 2 is during that time of the month... but i really dont think that is avoidable unfortunatly!!

I have VERY sensitive skin that dries out really fast and peels even fatser. I ahve been on EVERY acne med out there and they all turned my face to beef. Proactive worked for awhile but then did the same thign.

What is working for me now is the Neutrogna line. I used to use visibly EVEN but now Im using the Stress acne control stuff and I LOVE it. I use that and STRIDEX wipes to go ironically enough and my skin hasn't looked this good in awhile.

I didn't like proactive it made my skin breakout more and very dry and have red spots on it. Also it left marks on my towels which really got me mad!!!

on the other hand, it works miracles for some ppl. like you said, diff things work for diff ppl.
