Professional Pictures - How long until they are ready?

We got married October 1 and still have not received our pictures! I am not sure what the normal turn around time is but I am getting really anxious. More so because i wanted to get our thank you cards out by Christmas!! Am i just being way impatient or is this way to long to wait?

I got married 10/16 and just received my pro pics this past weekend. Had major communication issues with my photographer, which really stressed me out. Now I'm kind of ambivalent about them. I like some of them but feel there's a lot missing.

Have you reached out to your photographer to get an update on when you'll get them? 4 months does appear to be on the longer side. Also, check your contract and see if there is a timeframe in there.

i got mine in exactly 8 weeks after the wedding, but that was rare. they said 8-12 weeks - duet

it depends on the photographer though - i would definitely follow up and get a round about time from them

I know how you feel with the communication, or lack of! She told me on November 21st that our album would be online the next morning!
Then she ignored my emails, calls and texts since then!
I told her I understand you are busy but please just let me know a realistic time! I don't want to get too pushy with her because what happens if she takes offense and our pictures suffer!

Did you go back to your photographer and let them know they may have left some out! Its not fair, we are spending thousands for this! Its one of the biggest expenses and one of the few things we have left after our wedding.

Have your husband reach out to them. I was getting nowhere and my husband emailed the photog and got a reply within hours! I think they just blow us off because we're crazy brides but realize that when a husband contacts them, it's 'serious.'

No, I haven't reached out to the photographer to let her know I feel pics are missing. I did let her know that she still owes us an online gallery. I mean, come on, it's in my contract. So you think I don't want it?!

I will say that I have tons of photos from my wedding day. I reached out to family and friends for their photos while we were waiting for pro pics and many were gracious enough to provide them to us. Also, my best friend (old college roommate) is a professional photographer and she was kind enough to take a lot of photos of our wedding too. I am so lucky and thankful for that. Her photos are actually better than the ones we paid for! Lol

My friend also put it into perspective for me too. I have more than enough to frame and make an album out of and she said if I have a 150 that I love, I'm in a good place. It really helped me. Also, I want to do an after wedding shoot (not really ttd), and I plan on getting some of the photos I really wanted that were missed on my wedding day.
