proofs question.

proofs question.

I finally sat down and went through my proofs and just picked out which ones I liked and didnt. After looking through them all, I kind of realized that the style I fell in love with from my photographer, just didn't seem to show through on my own photos.

Is there still editing to be done, or is this it? Do most photographers let you edit, or do more to the photos after you get your proofs??

If not, then I am a little bit upset with my photos. There is alot of cropping to be done, and alot of other things to be cleaned up.

Re: proofs question.

my photographer cropped, brightened and edited all of the proofs we chose to be put in the album... i remember being VERY surprised about how fixed up and nice they looked as the finished product!!

im not sure if that is something every photographer does, but i would ask!!

Thanks, I will ask. :)

I am also curious, did you liked your proofs before they were edited? I am sort of hoping that if any editing can be done, it will make them look 100x better.

Re: proofs question.

usually the pics you see from photographers (at their studio or on their website) are edited....the proofs you end up getting are usually the raw images - there are probably some photographers who do edit the proofs but b/c that would be really time consuming to edit 1,000+ photos it would either take a long time to get them or cost more money....

whatever goes in your album should absolutely be edited and most likely will be....

i played around with a lot of my proofs myself because i enjoy it and i ended up loving how a lot of my pictures looked after i played with them a bit - i am trying to learn some techniques in photoshop so i download trials for different filters and add ons and i play around with my photos its like a hobby to me hahaha.....

i think i remember seeing something on my contract to have editing done for proofs - not sure if it was for all of them and it was too expensive - i figured i could play with them myself since i enjoy that kind of thing

ets: i just checked my old contract and to have the files edited was A LOT of money - i wish i had the money to have it done though b/c im sure the editing would be AMAZING but its just way too much so i have to settle on doing it myself

It can't hurt to ask if there is anything they can do to the pictures. I'm sorry you're unhappy

yeah but didnt you get some that were edited. I had a bunch of pics that were edited, not all but a good amount. I mean even if its B&W that is edited. But i have a few pics where i have a before and after and you see the colors and how different they look.

AG did tell me that every pic i do pick for the album will be edited

Re: proofs question.

I will deff call my photog and ask if it costs anything, if it's too much money or w/e I will just have to do it myself in photoshop.

FutureMulligan , I am the same way, I love playing around in photoshop and I am actually looking forward to playing with some of my proofs already, I guess I was just thinking that they would look finished lol when they are not yet! So I will wait until the end to see how they come out.

Thanks girls :)

some of them i LOVEEED and some of them i was like, oh i wish the shot was closer.... when i sat down with him to pick out the pics for the albums i mentioned to him the shots that i wanted to be cropped and he was like 'oh all of the pics get cropped and edited'

i was like WHEW!

Re: proofs question.

I think most photographers will do like 20+++ art edits. Mine did over 100 special edits (for my slideshow). And yes she did edit all my photos but spent extra time on certain ones. I dont think it is normal for them to touch up and crop every picture.

yep - all the blog photos she posted we got the raw image and the edited version (there were probably about 20 of those) and there were a few others here and there that were edited....but its really just a handful out of the 1300+

i know all the album pictures will be edited - i can't wait to see what she does with those! i'm hoping i can get a CD of those as well - they'll probably be really nice....

did you pick your album pics yet?
