So the 'Where to live' post had me thinking. I'm just curious to what everyone is paying and getting out of it.
1. How much do you pay for property taxes each year? 2. How big is your lot? 3. How many square feet is your house? approximately. 4. What county do you live in?

I forgot to answer my questions. 1. $1320 per year. We got really lucky with the taxes. It's mostly because we have an old house and there was no addition to the house since it was built. 2. 1/4 acre 3. 1200 sf 4. Suffok County (E. Northport)

I have a coop
1. How much do you pay for property taxes each year?included in maintaince which is @ 900 per month (includes heat, gas electric,water,taxes ..everything but cable,internet and phone lol)
2. How big is your lot?ummm no lot to speak of lol it is a garden apt so we are in a pretty courtyard and do have a nice area to garden, bbq etc. but no 'Private' yard
3. How many square feet is your house? approximately...900 sq ft (2bdrm coop)
4. What county do you live in? Queens (Whitestone)

lol yep taxes seriously s u c k!!! and thats not even that bad. My parents are in West Islip and they pay well over 10K!!!!!! its crazy!!!! And thanks..its big enough for now..but not when we have kids! lol
We only have a 2 bedroom 1 bath house. It's good enough for now as well. We are hoping to do an addition in the next 5 years since we have an oversized lot compared to our neighbors. And my neighbors pay $5k-$7k in property taxes.

1. taxes this year are 9,488, we have an 1100 star discount, I am sure they will be going up alot next year 2. 60x100 3. The county has our home listed at 2595 sq ft 4. Nassau County

*if* we get the house it will be the following:
taxes - $3,500
property size - a little less than a quarter of an acre
square footage - 1911 living (all living areas) and 2358 total (total includes the 2 car garage and entry area)

1. approx $8,900 a year before STAR. 2. 60x100 3. i think around 1400 sq feet not including the basement. 4. nassau county - east meadow.

It totally makes me feel like I will never be able to afford a house here. 8,000 a year for taxes alone??? I mean.we would both have to make more than 120k a year just to have extra money for maintenence on the house and bills. That's just insane to me.

We still have two places see below.
Place #1: 1. - It's part of the maintenance fee so I'm not sure how much. 2. - Co-op in Forest HIlls...not sure the full lot size 3. - Approximately 700 sq ft. (I'ts a one bedroom) 4. - Queens
Place #2: 1. - About $4400 2. - 50 x 100 ( i think) 3. - Don't know it's a small house though. 4. - Farmingville, Suffolk Cty.
