Re: Pulled Pork Recipe

1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup(s) ketchup
1/3 cup(s) cider vinegar
1/4 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1/4 cup(s) tomato paste
2 tablespoon(s) sweet paprika
2 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon(s) yellow mustard
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper
4 pound(s) boneless pork shoulder blade roast (fresh pork butt), cut into 4 pieces
12 soft sandwich buns or ciabatta rolls, warmed
Dill pickles (optional)
Potato chips (optional)
Hot sauce (optional)
DIRECTIONS

1. In 4 1/2- to 6-quart slow-cooker pot, stir onion, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, tomato paste, paprika, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and pepper until combined. Add pork to sauce mixture and turn to coat well with sauce.
2. Cover slow cooker with lid and cook pork mixture on low setting as manufacturer directs, 8 to 10 hours or until pork is very tender.
3. With tongs, transfer pork to large bowl. Turn setting on slow cooker to high; cover and heat sauce to boiling to thicken and reduce slightly.
4. While sauce boils, with 2 forks, pull pork into shreds. Return shredded pork to slow cooker and toss with sauce to combine. Cover slow cooker and heat through on high setting if necessary.
5. Spoon pork mixture onto bottom of sandwich buns; replace tops of buns. Serve sandwiches with pickles, potato chips, and hot sauce if you like.

I made this for superbowl and it was a hit!

Re: Pulled Pork Recipe

I went to a bbq over the summer and one of the girls made it and it was so friggin good. She said all she did was put the pork in the crockpot and poured a bottle of bbq sauce over it and cooked it on high for 4-6 hours, I'm not really sure about the timing, but I'm sure you can look up a recipe online to make sure and get the correct time. Then when it was cool enough to touch she shredded it.

That sounds so yummy and easy!

I would also check out the foodnetwork site b/c they have that new show 'down home with the Neel'ys' They do nothing but make bbq so they should have a great recipe. :)

Re: Pulled Pork Recipe

I got this one from someone on here...havent made it yet though!

pulled pork

one 2 1/2 lb well trimmed pork loin roast
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 cup ur fav barbecue sauce i like stubbys not too sweet
one onion sliced thin
4 cloves garlic diced
a palm of chili powder
a pinch of ground cumin
a pinch of oregano
a pinch of cinanamon
a shake of paprika
sometimes i chop up a green pepper or two depending

cook on low for 10 hours you will be able to pull apart with two forks make sure the pork is well covered with the sauce
we usually shred the pork and serve on flax wraps or any you like with shredded lettuce, raw red onion, and a dollop of sour cream again or some shredded cheese, you could also serve with some great crusty bread and a salad, or over rice, or you could make lettuce wraps with it, so good
