Punta Cana

Anyone been?? Me and DH are thinking about staying at Dreams for a week.

I know you cant really leave the resort area but just wondering if it is nice there???

Punta Cana is my favorite vacation spot. The beaches are gorgeous and the service is amazing. You should definitely go.

Once we stayed at the Barcelo Palace and last time at the RIU. We were thinking either Majestic or back to the RIU this time.

Just make sure your transfers are included in your tickets we paid about $50 for a 10 minute cab ride from the airport.

Oh and I hope topless bathing doesnt bother you. DR is full of European tourist.

my brother went there for his honeymoon, they really enjoyed, i can find out where they stayed if you want

Sorry to be negative but I had a horrible experience in Punta Cana... I didn't stay at the Dreams resort, but stayed at the Melia Caribe Tropical.. DH and I couldnt wait to come home...

we had fun! we went ages ago so my info could be a tad outdated.

u can do excursions but if that's something ure interested in book them here before u go it will save u a lot of $ (like a snorkel/boat cruise). and ure basically not leaving your resort unless u go on an excursion.

ure not supposed to drink the water - just bottled. check with your dr (or read online) if u should take malaria pills before u go (this was a while ago). we stayed away from the beef (unless u know they imported it from a reputable location). we saw lots of cows grazing in garbage when we took a drive through the DR.

i think we stayed at the occidental grand...which is average. we didn't find anything wrong with our stay although if u read trip advisor reviews some are scary so it just depends! we didnt know much and were 'young' back then.

we LOVED Punta Cana when we went this past May. the beaches are amazing and the food is delicious. We stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro -- and i would go back in a heart beat.

We HM'd at the Majestic. It was nice but we had horrible weather and a bad experience at the airport trying to come home. When the beach wasn't red flagged it was like a postcard. The resort itself showed it's well used - but I thought we still got a great deal for what we paid. Lots of pics in my HM photo album!

A little bit of both... The resort was gorgeous but we jsut didn't have a good experience...
