Re: Q of the D

Just a little bit. I mean, I used to cook a lot at home and helped my mom clean, do the laundry and stuff, but now that it is totally my responsibility it feels a LITTLE different. I know that if I DON'T do it, that someone is depending on me for clean undies and a cooked meal so that makes it feel different. Sometimes when my friends come over and I realize I'M the host, that makes it feel different too. As for our relationship, it feels the same, but in a better way if that makes sense.

DH and I have lived together for 2 years before the wedding... so that hasn't changed. We have shared those responsibilites for a while..

What does feel diffrent for me is being more relaxed and us really taking time to be with eachother. That is the best feeling.

Not really, I just feel like I don't see my family as much.

Not really, although i feel very different when it comes to my friends who are single or just dating. there is a certain level that being married makes me feel that i am on. When my friends talk about their relationships and the games and all the nonsense, i am so happy that i dont ever have to deal with any of that ever again.

ditto!

i also feel kind of out of the loop.... i feel like my aunts and uncles havent quite grasped the concept that i'm an adult now and if they are having family over for someone's birthday or a family dinner or something, they wouldnt call me.. they would tell my mom to tell me. which is like, ok are you going to do that even when my mom is like 80 years old?! lol

i also dont see my mom as often.... but i guess thats just what happens

i dont' really feel all that different as far as the marriage itself goes. i do sometimes feel sad in the sense that my friends and i are all growing up and starting our own little families and therefore we don't see each other as much. i know this is just part of the deal but it does make me feel old sometimes!

Re: Q of the D

We first moved in before the wedding. It was a shock to me because I was used to seeing my fam everyday. I only live 5 min away so I see my parents often anyway. But I wasn't used to being home alone when DH was at work.

Now I like to spend every moment I can with DH. We snuggle and watch TV, go to Borders for coffee and flip through magazines. And I love it.

As for chores I take on most of the housework. He does his fair share though. I'm home more so it only makes sense.

I only get upset when he gets mad that I did all the laundry, clean the apartment, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom and he gets made that his undershirts are wrinkly. So instead of putting them in the dryer I hang them up the way he asks. And he still got upset because he needed to wash and hang his dress shirts. So I just tell him I will do my own laundry, towels and sheets and he can do his laundry... didn't like that idea so much. LOL

In general it's been different being married but in many ways the same. We are happy. We love our family and love to have our family and friends over. The biggested change was being in our own apartment and being 'grown ups'

It's different in the sense that I became unemployed right after getting married, so somethings like cooking which he used to do everyday now I do. The changes were more due to my job situation rather than the actual getting married since we were basically living together for the last 4 months before the wedding and before that we were almost living together just maybe didn't see each other 2x's a week. An added responsibilty I got was managing the finances, that's probably the only thing that really changes once we got married...he handed over his money

Re: Q of the D

For me i feel totaly different, i went from living under my parents roof, and dinner being ready for me, and even though i cleaned my own room, the rest of the house my momma cleaned.... now I come home from work and cook dinner and do a little cleaning each day (although i went cleaning crazy on saturday so i dont have to clean today!)
Its like if I leave a cup in the sink it will be there for me (or DH) later to clean....

Regarding our relationship, we have been together for 7 years and being married has actually brought us closer.... i can not describe the feeling, but i bet all you newlyweds know exactly what i mean!

Yes! Neither one of us had lived away from home with more than the casual dorm responsibilities. Living together and being our OWN family is completely new and wonderful!!

We lived together before so that feels the same, but now we are adjusting to everything being joint. Joint checking, one person paying the bills, etc. the one thing that does feel different from dating is that I feel so much more secure. I know that sounds silly and I always knew Joey and I would be together forever, but now that we are married it just solidified that for me.

It is totally different. We didnt' live together. We are now getting used to seeing eachother 24/7 lol, cooking every night (not depending on mom to cook), cleaning more, joint $$.
Its a good change though

we didn't really love together before the wedding...he stayed at my parents house all the time..but it wasn't the same. I LOVE it now tho. Even tho cleaning, cooking, laundry isn't so fun...it's still awesome that we live together..just the two of us.

Everyone says the first year of marriage is hard and huge adjustment and blah blah...we don't think so. I love that he comes home from work, we eat dinner and then cuddle on the couch watching tv together. and I love waking up to him every morning....even we he snores or hogs the bed. lol

I still see my parents about once or twice a week and talk to my mom almost daily. I miss my sister a lot..we were BFF. But Dh loves her too, so she's here a lot.

I do..I think since we didnt live together there is SUCH a difference...I love it. It is so fun to have eachother to come home to, and see everyday. DH and I lived 45 min's apart so we saw eachother once a week and weekends...we fight LESS now bc we dont have to worry about planning to see eachother, who coming to the persons house....its awesome

Re: Q of the D

Yes and no...we didn't live together before we were married so the living together thing is definitely an adjustment. I was on my own for many years lol...and it just feels more 'adult' to me now that we share a house and that it is me who is responsible for certain chores getting done.... I wasn't used to someone actually depending on me besides my cats haha. For the most part it is how I expected it to be though. And things are going pretty well...I like it so far...can't wait to spend our first V-day together as a married couple!!!!
