QOTD: 3 year old found

What do you think of this case? They say no foul play is suspected -- but do you really think a 3 year old can walk 3 miles and not get hurt at ALL??? I have a hard time believing he was just walking out there on his own ....

Oh man, I never even thought of that. I watched Nancy Grace for about 5 mins last night and someone called in and said, you know, when I babysit my 4 yo granddaughter and I hear the door open, I am OUT THE DOOR to see where she went. The article said the dad was sleeping I think and the mom was on the phone. I guess it's possible she was so wrapped up in the call that she wasn't paying attention - but I know my sister would be paying attention, no matter what she was doing, to what her 2 yo daughter was doing, you know? Not calling her a bad mother, but ... maybe them saying they were doing other things IS an alibi of sorts????

I was more thinking along the lines of, someone picked this kid up, and for some reason, dropped him off in the ravine where he couldn't get out. I just find it very unlikely that the kid walked 3 miles and didn't get hurt or wasn't seen by someone you know?? He didn't start crying? No one saw him and said, what the hell is a 3 yo doing walking the streets by himself???

at that age, if something shady did happen, I think the kid would have said. cus kids at that age don't have much of a vocal filter.

i think its great they found him!!!

When my cousin was 3 he woke up in the early in the morning he wanted milk. He tried to do it himself. He spilled it all over so he decided to let him self out the front door and walk to 7-11. At 5:30 am a person was banging on my aunts door. She had my little cousin b/c she was on her way to work and had seen him at the bus stop with his brothers and sister. She brought him home and my aunt was scared she was going to call CPS but the whole house was asleep. Crazy things like this can happen.

I agree with that. Sometimes you just get caught up in something else you may not hear it. I just happen to think that parents, especially mothers have a sixth sense for that sort of thing. They have mommy raidar, but it's obviously possible to not know every minute.

I also have to say that I FREAKING LOVE NANCY GRACE! lol

I love, love, love her to death.

yeah, that's a tough scary situation. I work with three year olds so I do kind of believe this story. Sure, the parents should have been watching their kid a little better that night, but things happen. Sometimes a child can just wander off - it happens a lot actually. And he probably did just keep walking. If he didn't really get hurt and fall, then I'm sure he'd be able to continue walking those 3 miles, trying to get to his grandma's house. Especially since it took him 2 days to get that far with his little bitty legs, it makes it more believable to me.

Thank God he was found though and in close to perfect condition. I mean, so many things could have gone wrong!! Poor baby. I really do HOPE that the story is true. Because if somebody did that to him, then that's just sick. But I agree with one of the previous posters - he would have said if not. Kids that age talk a LOT. Even if he didn't understand what was going on, he'd be able to tell somebody that his mommy or daddy took him on a 'trip' to the forest. Or that a stranger came by. Or whatever. Depends on if he's a younger or older 3. But most 3 year olds that I spend time with (which is a LOT) are not very good at keeping secrets

I dont get this part...

Terry Schulte, the boy's grandmother, told KSDK-TV that Joshua told her he was on his way to visit her

Also didnt she notice her son was missing within like 10-15 minutes? Ummm 3 yr olds dont move that fast so I dont get how they didnt find him sooner??? Unless the mom was on the phone for hours??? Something is def fishy here but we may never know.

Yeah, I heard this on Nancy Grace. They looked for an hour or more in the immediate area of the house and didn't find him, I think. He doesn't walk THAT fast. Where was he???

I know, seriously I would have been running through the woods and yelling his name. If I was the mother I would have found him. Very odd.
