QOTD: Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

I was recently asked this and I honestly dont know. And Im very much a 'planner' ...but I really dont have a clue.

I could see myself pretty much with teh exact same situation as I am in now (same house, no kids, same job, etc..) just as easily as I can picture a totally different life (different house, different town, kids, different job)

What about you?

I don't expect too much to change in the next five years in terms of housing & employment.

I hope we have a new car.
No debt what so ever including the new car & our time share.
A definitive plan for moving out of state in the 6-7 year range.

same house, but with furniture and decorated , 1-2 kids, I hope to be working as an elementary school teacher.

Now that I read them, that seems like such a lot of BIG life changes, esp in 5 years. Time seems to go by so much faster now, I cannot believe this time last year I was so consumed w. wedding planning and I dont even think about my wedding most days now. How things change...

I picture myself as the first female partner at the law firm I am working at, with a few children and living in a much bigger house that I can hire other people to paint for me.

(Can you guess what is going on at my house every weekend?)

Five years seems so far away, yet five years ago feels like yesterday...

In five years, I will be the mother of an almost five year old boy getting ready to go to kindergarten! Hopefully my DH and I will be living in a home/ apt that we own. I will be in my last year of ob-gyn residency, hopefully with a job or fellowship lined up. As for the things not completely in my control... I hope my sister has moved back to the east coast by then and that the rest of my close friends and family are still all living nearby.

In 5 years I will be the mom of an almost 5 year old and hopefully will either have an infant or will be pregnant again. I will probably be in the same house and working at the same hospital on the same floor. My life is pretty routine.

WOW! Good question.
In five years I see myself out of my condo, hopefully in a nice house. I see myself teaching still, but hopefully persuing a doctorate in Psych. I also think in 5 years I will probably start trying to have a baby.

I also hope to be out of credit card debt and making a good dent in my student loans.

I also hope that I will have seen more of the carribean!

WOW! I also think DH will still be a lawyer, but a different type.

awesome question!!! i have been thinking a lot about this lately and wondering if my career shift has pushed off some things.

five years from now - i will (hopefully) have a nice teaching position. DH and I will be in a house further out on the island. hoping we have 1 baby and baby #2 on the way as soon as i get tenure somewhere.

Being a SAHM with 2, maybe a 3rd child on the way.

In our same house, but with all the improvements/renovations complete.

DH having full ownership in the family business after his dad retires.

Having 60 less mortgage payments that we do now!!

Great question!

In 5 years, I see us out of this apartment and owning a house, hopefully out of the NY metro area. I also see 1-2 kids, or TTCing. And a shorter commute to work!

I see the same house the same husband and the same kids !!!

Also I would like to have some foster kids, there are much to many kids with no parents and I find that so hard to accept!!!
