If so, why? Did she ask you to call her that? Do you do it on your own because you feel it in your heart? Do you feel obligated, because she asked you?
If you don't -- What do you call her (be nice ladies)?
OK -- I'll start ...
For me I call my MIL, Mrs. G. I can't find it in my heart to call her anything but that right now. I only have 1 Mom and that is my Mom. My MIL can't hold gold next to my Mom. I had a rough time with my MIL when I prepared for my wedding. She now expects me to call her Mom and I can't do it. I told her I was uncomfortable calling her that and she got upset at me. Maybe in time, but not right now.

I call my inlaws by their first name. I'm uncomfortable calling them Mom and Dad, especially since I have a step-mother who I call by her first name. But when they send me a birthday card, they will sign it 'Mom and Dad' which is okay with me.

I think the whole idea of the tradition is being missed- it's not about replacing your Mom or Dad with your in-laws.. it's about the ceremony of marriage merging the two families into one. I truly believe that- and my husband's Mom is my Mom too because of that.

i do not call her mom, infact i just droped the MRS. I am trying really hard to call her by her first name. I have been with my husband for 9 years, you think I would be able to do this by now.

I call her Gina, which is what everyone calls her. It not her name -- I don't know the story behind that. I don't call my FIL anything.
