It's the irish ones already living here I'm thinking will be no shows!

EXACTLY!! He lives in Suffolk! I had to call him because he didn't RSVP!!! Then he said of course me & my girlfriend will be there!!! And he didn't show!!

See and taht's why I keep saying to FH 'you have to call and get a confirmation that they are or are not coming!' You cannot just assume they are because they said they got the invitation and you cannot assume they are because they were at your stag party!

One guy said he never got the invitaiton (we sent it - either wrong address or he tossed it w/o realizing what it was). I said to FH we have to run another by him tonight and he said 'no he said he's coming' but the directions are in the invitations so if they miss the bus we are providing - they won't know how to get there. Do you kow he said 'don't worry he wont miss the bus'. HELLO?!?! Do you see into the future?

Grr. I cannot wait until 4/30/04 5pm. Then I can relax!!!!!!!!

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding

We had two no shows. The man's brother was at our wedding and said that he and his wife didn't make it because they both had the stomach flu but they never called us to this day or sent a gift and obviously we paid for their plates

we one 1 no-show that night - the wife of one of my mom's cousins was sick.

a few nights before the wedding we found out that MIL's best friend was in the hospital - so obviously she and her hubby did not attend - but we knew ahead of time.

We had a few due to awful circumstnaces..one couple had a friend who died, they knew she was dying of cancer, but it happened the day before and we kinda knew something was up when we didnt hear from them...then I had one friend comeing from DC who had abad car accident, she was bringing adate, then I have a cousin who called in sick, she was briging a date and another cousin whose husband sprung on her the day before that he wanted a divorce..it was really terrible.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding

The theory is to omit 10 people from your last head count. Case in point - I had 10 people cancel the last week of my wedding and I had 2 no shows for a total of 12 people. Make sure you tell your reception place that you want the meals wrapped up and ready to go if there are any no shows. After all you already paid for them.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding

4 altogether. One couple didn't show because she was very sick. One girl didn't show up, but she is notoriously flakey. That was annoying. And someone else didn't bring a date when they responded with a date.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding

Thank you for everyone's reply.

I think I will undercount the final count by 6 or 8.

And if we end up paying for uneaten meals, I will either have them wrapped and take with us or ask the hall to donate the food to a shelter for me.

Mary
