Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
Can you tell me how many no shows you had? IE: those you thought were coming and didn't show up the day of.I'm trying to explain to FH that might happen.
He thinks that it just won't.
Gotta love him.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
I had 2 sets of no shows that we haven't spoken to them since before the wedding. One is my husbands friend from home that was set to sit at the family table!!
The other was an old co=worker of mine who NEVER called me to say sorry (neither did the friend) No card, no call, NOTHING!!!Another who was supposed to drive from Missouri & she just never showed. I had to e-mail her to ask her what happened. She came up w/ a lame excuse & a 'I will mail your gift' It's been almost a year..the postman must be really slow!!
Another who I was told the day before..but, did send a card w/ a check.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
I don't know if you really call this a no show, but Hubby's grandfather had been sick and on oxygen...at the RD was the first time he drank in quite a while. I think he forget that since he had not drank in a while and since he was drinking while pure oxygen was being pumped into his system that he was going to get pretty tipsy and pretty fast. That night he went to bed and got up in the middle of the night...tripped getting out of bed and hit his head on the nightstand. The poor man had to get 11 stiches...so he did not make it. The one of hubby's great aunts did not show...but we too had someone who responded no show up. So I guess we had two no shows, plus one additional show for a grand total of 1 no show.Did you want the long answer or the short?

4: 3 were people who are notoriously unreliable, the fourth bought his ticket from California for the wrong date!!

We had a few no-shows as well. We just told the reception hall less people than we were expecting and it all worked out.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
We had 3 no-shows. One called to say they weren't coming the other we thought might not come, so we didn't count on it. The third, was the priest that was supposed to give the blessing and he never showed, called or even answered our messages left at the rectory. Thankfully we had an awesome Officiant that gave us the most beautiful ceremony. The Priest was a friend of my parents and he was supposed to sit at my parents table!

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
TracyThat stinks! I mean at least have the decency to send a card or call - I don't even mind no gift but at least give a reason for the no show!
I'm not so nervous about the ones coming from Ireland. I know their reservations are made, they've called us with flight #'s and arrivals and their hotel reservations and booked.
It's the irish ones already living here I'm thinking will be no shows!
I have a feeling FH's boss might be a no show. No reason, just have that feeling.
I'm just trying to get a sense of what to tell Verdi's when we drop off the final payment.

People said no and showed up?!? That's weird. Did they say why?

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
We had t\four no-shows. They were childhood friends of DH. They have not called or said Boo. We figure that's the end of our relationship with them. It's just plain rude!

We had one couple not show (they work with DH) and we had one couple cancelled the day before because the husband was sick.

Re: Ques for NW about 'no shows' at your wedding
I had 2 no shows - both dates of friends. One friend DH called several times before the wedding to double check he was bringing a date (he doesn't have a girlfriend and has yet to bring one to any of the wedding we have been to with him)..he ensured DH he was and sure enough - no date. Gotta love it!We also had a lot of people changing their mind for one reason or another the week or two before the wedding.
I think it is totally normal.

We didn't have any 'no-shows' but we did have 4 emergencies that told us the week of the wedding they wouldn't be coming.
