question about baking muffins

so, i made these banana choc. chip muffins a few days ago. Today when I was eating one, I noticed a ton of these little black string-like things throughout the muffin. They werent moving and didnt look like something living, but I cant figure out what they are since the only dark colored ingrediant was the chips, which are still whole.

Any idea what it is?

its the fibers from the bananas - the heat from the oven turns them a dark color.
