Looking for some opinions on this one. A friend of mine got married a few months ago and we gave a check but it was never cashed. After a month or so I asked about it in an email (she's far away) but she didn't mention it in her response and it still wasn't cashed. She couldn't make it to our wedding, but now we just received a card with a check for $100 more (a pretty large amount, especially compared to other friends' gifts).
What do I do? Cash this check and remind her again about hers? This is a close friend but I don't see or talk to her very often since she's far away. It's kind of an odd situation, right? I appreciate any input.

I would call her and thank her for the gift and say, hey, ya know, my bank hasn't received the check back that I sent you for your wedding! Have you cashed it or did it get lost in the mail?!

I think that's a great way to approach it. I would mention it too, especially since she's a close friend.
