i'm curious, i just saw a commericial for 100% recycled reynolds aluminum foil, when you see products are now becoming 'green' do you switch up your purchasing to 'go green' or are these 'better' options more expensive then the regular old harm the environment products that have been around for 100 years?

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
If I see something that is better for the environment, and is decently priced, then I definiely opt for the better product. I try to use those shopping bags, and I try to recycle the plastic bags at the supermarket.

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
I try to if the product is not really expensive. Even if it is i sometimes still get it because I just like to know I'm 'doing my part'....as far as aluminum foil goes though, not sure if I'd spend a lot more for that since I rarely use it. We reuse a lot of those plastic containers.

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
I think I would purchase it if it was the same price or cheaper. I have those reusable bags but I never remember to bring them into the store. Then I feel extra bad when I use a plastic bag.

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
it just seems that more and more of these products are turning up all over the place, it's like almost hard not to buy some of them.
hey whatever helps the planet right?

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
I just bought the recycled aluminum foil. It was the same price as the 'bad' aluminum foil, to be quite honest this is the only reason why I decided to try it.
I've also started using the reusable bags at Stop & Shop. You get 5 cents back for every bag. Hey, every penny counts for me right now

i'll buy them if its the same price or cheaper, but I dont think they should jack up the prices on things b/c they know ppl will pay to go green.

I agree, I forgot that they gave you money back when you bring the bags in. I should definitely remember to do this!

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
Yes I try to buy things 'green' if they are reasonable priced.
I do use the S&S reusable bags. They hold so much more than plastic bags (learned this on LIF). I have 4 and that holds alot. If I have extra I use the plastic (1 or 2) and use those for the small garbage pails.

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
It really depends on the product. I know there are the 'green' cleaning products, but I'm not switching from clorox clean up which I use for my bathrooms and kitchen to something else. But no, I don't run out and get it. If it's cheaper or the same price, I'll get it.

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
when you make a purchase at steve madden they put your shoes in this GIANT black canvas bag...i have a few of those that i use at the grocery store and they can hold SO MUCH FOOD. i love using them.
i've been using Method products for years which are supposedly good for the environment. now that I see these new products I wonder if they're more 'green' than Method

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
i tried but i cant deal - nothing like bleach to clean a bathroom, i cant help it!
I use the reusable bags but just b/c its convenient and i dont end up with a million bags
and i always try to buy the cheapest products and right now, going green isnt good for my wallet.
I try to conserve on my own - I rarely use paper towels, even though I always make sure to have a roll on hand - I try to reuse containers, stuff like that.

Re: Question about 'Going Green'
using green only products is not really wallet friendly.. but if there is a sale or something, i would buy items.. and i also heard that clorox green is not really green per say..

I LOVE those bags, I have one too. It has a hole in one of the bottom corners, and I just sewed it up lol I love that bag and that is such a good idea.
