Question about name change
I know you need to go to the SS office first and then the DMV, but do you need to have the new SS card BEFORE going to the DMV?
TIA!

Re: Question about name change
If you do it on the same day, you get it over with.
FYI-all my credit cards all I had to do was call and they switched the name for me.
The cable/phone/mortgage companies needed more documentation, as did my company.
Definitely make some photocopies of your certificate, you will likely be needing it.
The one thing I've been procrastinating on is changing my name on my passport.

It definitely takes a while. Good luck!

Re: Question about name change
Over a year later and I still haven't changed my name on my passport. I guess it's a good thing that I refuse to travel anywhere.
