I've been wearing my e-ring since 2002. The metal has definitely shifted, and kind of formed to fit on the ring finger of my left hand. Now, when I try to wear my e-ring on my right hand, it HURTS! My wedding ring doesn't match, so I can't really do a combo. So, lately, I've only been wearing my e-ring on my left hand. (It could pass as a wedding set, but it's not)
Anyone else have platinum rings that are 'settling'?

Re: question about platinum rings
Hmmmm.......no. I've had my e-ring since Feb 2003 and have worn it just about every day. I just switched it over to my right hand to see if it would fit and it did. I didn't think platinum could 'settle'. Have you asked a jeweler about this, and if they could mold it back for you? P.S. I think I might start wearing my e-ring on my right hand. When I wear it with the wedding ring it kind of takes away from the beauty of the e-ring. And I love that feeling of having just the e-ring, kinda makes me feel like I just got engaged

yeah, when we first got engaged, I asked if it would wear down. The jeweler said that it wouldn't wear down, but it would 'settle'. At the time, I had no idea in the world what she was talking about, but now I do

Wow, I'd never heard of that! I know that my gold rings do that because gold is much more pliable, but had no idea that platinum could do that

Re: question about platinum rings
I havent had that experience. But I have heard something like that before. Both my Ering and band are very thick. So thick that i cant wear them on the same finger, so I started wearing ering on right hand w/o a problem. This is my wedding band:
I don't think a platinum ring should change shape at all. Maybe take it to a trusted jewelry and have it tested? Or maybe its just b/c you are used to having it on the other hand that it hurts?
I can only wear my ring on my left hand b/c my ring hand ring finger is larger than the one on the left. But that was the case all along.

Re: question about platinum rings
Suven, what does your ring have stamped inside it? Does it say 'PLAT' or something else? Platinum rings are not pure platinum. Some have more platinum than others. What's stamped inside your ring will determine that.

I just switched my platinum ring over and it is fine. Fits on both.
