Question about someone else's wedding!

So DH and I had been planning to go to Germany next Spring for the Strong Beer Fest in Munich. It is in early March (March 1-17 I think). We just got a STD from a family friend of his for their wedding on March 9. Normally I'd say we could just do both except the wedding is in Miami. I just feel like we'd be stressed with two trips in like 2 weeks....and wouldn't enjoy either of them. Plus we'd be putting down about 2 grand in flights, and probably another 2 grand in hotels to do both.

What would you do?

A family friend? I wouldn't go. I'd send a small gift (possibly) and let them know that you are travelling at that time.

Yup exactly! Me too! I wouldn't bend over backward to attend when you have this amazing trip already in planning.

screw the wedding and go to Germany!!!! Especially since its in Florida and its just a family friend. People will understand that you can't stop living your life just because they are getting married.

Re: Question about someone else's wedding!

I'd send them a small gift with your NO reply, and party it up in Germany!

Re: Question about someone else's wedding!

Being that it's on DH's side, I would probably let him decide. However, I would tell him that I think we should go to Germany since we had been planning on it already.
