Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)

Is there anything about your wedding that still pi$$es you off? Even a long time later? We had a couple of no-shows and to this day, never got an explanation!!! That still makes me mad. My old boss and her partner also RSVP'd yes and then ,left right after the cocktail hour!!! W T F???? I PAID for both of you!!!

Yes. I still refuse to speak to the bridesmaid from hell. (although, she behaved like a beyotch to us at other events that occured after our wedding, so that also contributes to my unwillingness to speak to her)

And, I am officially retired from participating in bridal parties. My girls were not there for me the way I would have been there for them. I've made it known that I am 'retired' from weddings.

And, when the 'stiffers' and 'cheap azzes' have parties, I am very tit for tat with gifts.

(disclaimer: when I say 'cheap azz' I am referring to the adult couple who brought their uninvited son, were rude to my mother in the way they told her that they brought him, and then gave me $65)

We also had one no-show and we also never until this day, never got an explanation. We see the guy all the time and he pretends that it never happened. That pisses me off.

Then to top that off, my sister-in law left the RB pillow at the restaurant where we had the rehearsal dinner (her son was the RB) and she forgot it there! She remembered the day of my wedding and she claims she called and they didn't have it and none of the bridal stores were open on Sunday... yeah right!!! So, my nephew walked down the isle, fidgeting with his hands down the isle! I was so upset! It looked like I was too cheap to buy a pillow! She loves all the attention and always gets it from everyone. Sometimes, I think she did it on purpose, b/c they almost lost theirs (RB pillow) on their wedding day, but luckily someone had time to buy another one. But not for my wedding day. I think that is a little coincidental if you ask me, very suspicious! Very cruel and strange if she did that b/c of what happened to her. I try to make sense of it and I say to myself what kind of terrible person would do something like that to someone?! But it is just too coincidental and strange.

Hey, almost the same thing happened to us, except in our case, it was an adult couple who brought their uninvited 5-year old daughter (she was the ONLY child at the wedding...after I had told my close friends that no children were invited...I was so annoyed). That was after my DH told his friend there were no children invited, and they brought their daughter anyway. But I beat you out for the $65...we would have been happier with that. We got a recycled crock pot as a wedding gift from this couple...I'm estimating it is worth nothing. I think it was one of their recycled gifts. They won't be invited to any more of our events. If we're invited to one of theirs, I'll make sure to wrap up their crock pot as a gift .

I'm still pissed that my cousin didn't come to my wedding because my aunt (my Godmother!) couldn't bare the thought of putting her dog in a kennel overnight. They live in Vermont. It would have been one night. ONE NIGHT.

To top it off, I was gracious enough to research pet-friendly hotels, to make their lives easier. There was one 20 minutes from my church/reception.

My mother has almost no family. I have an aunt (mom's sister), an uncle and a cousin on my mother's side. That's it. This hurt my mother and I so much that I will NEVER, EVER FORGIVE this. This was the only source of unhappy tears shed over my entire wedding.

yes we had 40 people not show up after they said yes. then the b*tch bridesmaid from hell #2 ( suven has the origional b*tch from hell)got under my skin even yelling at me after the wedding for what a horrible time she had ( she was just ticked that i wouldnt invite her ex husband the drunken drug addict - yeah like i want that at my wedding)
yeah there are things that will always piss me off - like my cousins comming to new york the week before my wedding for vacation but then claiming they couldnt be here for the wedding ( they left the day before)
lots of stuff but you try not to let it get to you otherwise it marrs the whole experience.

Honestly, one of the only things that still bothers me to this day is the fact that my photographer missed some photos. I'm happy with my quality, and the way our album turned out, but there are just some things missing.

I have none of my brother, sister and I together, or just my parents and me together. I have all those individual shots though.

And he was a nightmare to work with after the wedding. For that fact alone I wouldn't recommend him. I'm also a little disappointed in myself that I didn't get a photojournalist to take some candid shots and various artistic photos. I thought I didn't need it, and now I regret it.

Otherwise, we had a few no shows as well, and that ticked me off, but we never see those people anymore, so it's no skin off my nose (they were dates of people who came to the wedding).

My photographer. Stupid Bi*ch.

Also, there was this girl I worked with at the school who's all over my video. She Insisted on bringing a guest when we were doing No Guests, and a month and a half after the wedding she totally backstabbed me at the job.

We also had people not show and a year later still not give explanations. I am also pissed at my SIL for having to bring a guest (her friend) and then he insisted on trying to dance with all the women at our wedding, stepped on my mom's best friend's toes, tried to pick up my cousin and then to top it all off he smelled.

Yes...I'll always be annoyed that our officiant said that my wedding was held on the 4th anniversary of my grandmother's death...at the time she had been dead for 15 years, and I got married on her BIRTHDAY. Jack@ss.

And I will always hate my cake, but that's because it will always be ugly. The other little things don't bother me much anymore!

I still get annoyed with DH's friends (a married couple). The wife came late to the reception from another party and brought their 2 year old daughter. She only stayed to eat/drink a little bit then went home with the kid anyway!!

Also I had a huge blowout with my ILs before the wedding about NO children being there so of course when this b**ch shows up with the kid the buzz starts among DHs cousins who didn't bring theirs.

My aunt, uncle and cousin cancelled at the last minute and my parents had even paid for my cousin's airfare. I still have nothing to say to any of them.
One of my BM gave me a $50 gift that I find very insulting. She was not a very good BM throughout the whole process and when it's her turn I will NOT be in her wedding. I could never be as crappy as she was and then I would just be resentful knowing how out of my way I would go for her.

Speaking of wedding gifts, my brother-in law gave us $50.00. He is getting married in November and he will be getting $50.00 back, I don't care what my MILhas to say about it!

Re: Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)

I will always be annoyed with the fact that DH's pushy family hung out with us while we were taking pictures before the cocktail hour and DH's cousin was stuffing his face with the food intended for the bridal party. When I got a break and wanted to eat something, there was nothing on the plate and he was chewing on the last of the stuff.

DH asked his mother to take the relatives to the bar, but she didn't see the harm.

Instead of a bunch of pics of me and DH with our bridal party, we have pics of DH's cousins who I had only met once before. Where are OUR friends? The ones who we chose to be there?

Oh yeah and the fact that my MIL gave my mom an attitude for the whole wedding day because my grandma (RIP) was wearing the same color as MIL.

When all of DH's extended family were pushing their way into our food and pictures, my parents were no where to be found because my mom didn't want to be near MIL and didn't want to subject my grandma to her rudeness.

In retropsect, if I had known what had gone down that day, I would have gotten both ladies together and told them to suck it up and deal with life!!

Oh Yes!

1) I will never forgive myself for putting so much trust in the place I had my reception at.

2) I'm p*ssed that I invited certain people that I really didn't want to invite in he first place, and now less than a year later, I haven't seen or heard from them since!

My hair girl. B/I/T/C/H! I don't really think about it much anymore, but if I had to pick one thing that angers me, she'd be it.

On a funnier note, I can top all you guys who mentioned crappy gifts. I got a strainer from a couple. I wasn't mad, I found it hilarious actually. Can you imagine? They came, they drank, they ate, they danced, they gave us a strainer!
