Original post by mrswask
Is there anything about your wedding that still pi$$es you off? Even a long time later? We had a couple of no-shows and to this day, never got an explanation!!! That still makes me mad. My old boss and her partner also RSVP'd yes and then ,left right after the cocktail hour!!! W T F???? I PAID for both of you!!!

My flowers My flowers My Flower my F-ing flowers
Gorgeous to all who saw them and the pictures are great
They are TOTAL not what I wanted, not what I invisioned, not what I specifically wrote down, not what I went over with him four tims and NOT what I actually made my own mini version of and brought to the florist the day before my own wedding!!!!!!!!!!
OH and of course the honeymoon
I will NEVER recommend In & Out travel. He even threaten to sue me because he goofed up my honeymoon and wanted to scare me off from stating the truth here.
Truth is always the BEST defense to slander or libel accusations.
He wants our only paper proof of his 'goof' to do what? I dunno but he wants it. I wont give it to him until he offically recsinds his 'threat'.
Pfft.
Nearly a year later and these things tick me off still today.
UGH just looking at my album UUUGH

I think I can top most of you.... The zipper to my wedding dress went off track 2 hours before the ceremony. It couldn't be fixed, so I had safety pins all up and down my back, I was uncomfortable for most of the day. I guess the only good thing that came out of it was that I got a full refund. But I would have given anything to be able to enjoy the day without worrying if I'm gonna stick myself.

Re: Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)
I will never forgive DH's parents for showing up at the wedding and not giving us a gift!!!! They claim money was tight which is total BS because they stayed at the roslyn clairmont the night of the wedding and paid for not only their room but DH's brothers room, sisters room and the grandmas room. Keep in mind that they live 20 minutes away from the reception sight and there was no need for them to stay. If money was so tight they shouldn't have stayed at the hotel. Also they didn't ever offer or help to pay for anything for the wedding. Normally this wouldn't piss me off....except for the fact that my husbands brother got married 3 years earlier ( when he was 21 and knocked up his girl friend) and the parents paid for half the wedding and then as a gift sent them on a HM. We paid for our own wedding (with some help from my mother) and we paid for our own HM. Almost a year later and his parent still havn't said anything about it. I asked DH if his family doesn't like me or something....and he says thats not the case. TO my face his family is lovely and act like they couldnt be happier for us....but it just doesn't make sence!!!!!
Ok Im done venting

Re: Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)
I am still annoyed about our no shows that I paid $1000 for! And...the 4 people that came without even a card for us! Now one of those people are getting married and I refuse to give a gift! LOL DH is going to the wedding without me. If I know him he will give a gift anyway, but I refuse to even go. There is a long story behind this guest. So yes, even 2 1/2 years later I am NOT OVER IT! And I am still annoyed that my cake did not have the fondant bows I paid for. I have issues. ETA: I will also never get over the huge fight that my father picked with me at my rehearsal which resulted in us not speaking for over 2 years after the wedding. Weddings really bring out the worst in people. And I have issues with my bridal party too...man I can go on and on. Let's just say that you really find out who your true friends are, and how much they value you when you get married.

Yeah, it pisses me off how one couple didn't like where they were seated, so they left after dinner They were really good friends of my dad, and he was very upset. I didn't find out afterwards, but I knew something was wrong with my Dad that night. I couldn't care less that they left, but it makes me mad that they put a damper on my dad's night. And we had a huge family feud with DH's brother and wife 6 months before the wedding, so they weren't there. That makes me mad too. Other than that, it was the best day of my life! :)

But I beat you out for the $65...we would have been happier with that. We got a recycled crock pot as a wedding gift from this couple...I'm estimating it is worth nothing. I think it was one of their recycled gifts. They won't be invited to any more of our events. If we're invited to one of theirs, I'll make sure to wrap up their crock pot as a gift .
That is absolutely hilarious. And appropriate.

I will ALWAYS be p!ssed about the 20 some odd no shows. I don't even want to remember who they all were right now. I will RSVP YES to all their events from now on and NOT show up.
I will FOREVER be p!ssed at the fact that an UNIVITED, UNRELATED 8 yr old CHILD who I had only met ONCE before my wedding caught the bouquet at my wedding instead of one my BRIDESMAIDS. (Just typing this is making my blood boil)
I will NEVER FORGIVE OR FORGET my HALL the SANDCASTLE for F!CKING up my wedding cake after I went out of my way to tell them what I wanted several times AND even drew a picture of it MYSELF. It was the most unprofessional SLOP I've ever seen.
Hey... thanks for bringing this up Michal... just what I needed -- to re-hash all this!! JK!

WOW - why the grudges let it go its their loss....usually people are jealous of your happiness and ability to show it with a lavish wedding, but I truly understand the need to vent...yes we all had no shows whether they rsvp'd or not, yes people switched seats, yes there were guests who gave nothing not even a card, yes there were guests or family that got drunk.....but you know what there will be other events in your lives to come, and you simply do not invite their a**!!! Period. And if they should ever ask why then you bring up your wedding.
My husband and I came home from our reception and immediately he starts opening the envelopes as soon as we get thru the door. Meanwhile I'm like I need a hand get me out of this gown man!!! We had to make a bank run before our flight the next morning. As we recorded the money, we just started laughing. Seriously. So as the holidays and birthdays roll around we think back to what we spent on our wedding nearly $35K and what we received and all of the bs on top of it. I have no regrets when I don't repsond to people. We feel vindicated. Better yet, we dare them to say something!!!

Re: Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)
I don't really think there is anything that still bothers me. My cousin and his wife gave us a $10.00 Target frame in a used Christmas bag after I had traveled 6 hours and gave a very generous gift for his very cheap and lame wedding but it is a reflection of him, not me. We had a couple of no shows but we knew about them a day before and they could not be helped at all.

Well, for me it was my issue with Double Diamond Limos, I still can't forgive them for puttting through stress that morning, thank God my limo was rented from another company and they were on time.

Re: Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)
there are a few things that bug the sh!t out of me.
But two of the funniest things were: My uncle decided that he wanted to taste the wedding cake and double dipped his finger into the buttercream.
My mother's cousin when I was dancing came up to me and asked me if her daughter could use my wedding dress for her wedding since we were the same size.
Uhh....could you let me finish wearing it first?
8 of DH's relatives canceling the night before. My BIL and family giving no gift or card for that matter and he owns his own law firm and has oodles of cash.
Still don't have a wedding gift.

Re: Question for 04 brides (or those who have been married awhile)
Wow, it's really crazy reading all of the things that happened to all of us, but I can totally relate. One of our no-shows had the nerve to call my husband before the ceremony asking him for directions, hello-you received the invite with a direction card and how lazy that you can't get the directions on your own if you lost the card, call information....so this person never showed up, someone that we've been friends with and hungout with. We were very surprised that he just didn't care to even attempt to make it. We have not spoken to him since.
