question for brides that did not like their proofs

I just got back my proofs & while going through them noticed that there were tons of shots that were not photographed but I have non-pro versions of some of these pics.... would any of you consider asking your photog to add in the non-pro pics into your album since they didn't do their job properly causing you to miss the pro- version of these pics? and yes, I did give them a very detailed must-take photo list including samples of pics that I like.. none of which were re-created.

for example, I do not have even 1 pro- pic of my entire ballroom or my centerpiece but my friend took a great pic that I'd like to have in my album.
Also, I'd like to add that there are some pics of special friends that the photog did not get & I'd def like them to be in my album... So maybe like 5 non-pro pics in total.

Do you girls think I should ask or demand that it be in there? or should I forget it?

If those were shots you listed as must takles and they didn't take them, then yes BUT make sure they are high res files and be aware they may sk you to sign a waiver in the event those pics arent of the same quality as their professional pics. They cant be held responsible for those and from a graphic designer perspective, I understand that. We did our own album so we did add in non-pro pics.

I would just ask nicely and explain and produce your must-take klist again if necessary. BUT make sure to reitterate he/she took GREAT pics-they just missed a few moments that you'd like to add in. You don't want to sound like you're attacking them because thn they'll get defensive and might not do it.

I don't think that is a problem to ask them..Hey you gave them a list to recreate and they didn't follow through, so therefore it is their problem to have to make you and your husband happy. If it is only around 5 pics, I can't see it being a big deal to them... I would go ahead and do it.. Good Luck

I would definately ask. I think I'm going to have a bunch of non-pro pics in my album, but I'm doing my album myself. If I do have a professional album made, it's not going to be by the company who shot the pictures (since they went out of business) so I assume they won't have a problem.

I know how you feel. I'm disappointed by my pictures as well. We had a family friend who followed the photographer around, and he got better shots than the photographer & his are even better quality. It makes me so mad

I kow friends of ours that did that -- there were 1 or 2 non-pro pictures of their FG's that were incredible and the photographer put them in the album and it came out great

there are 2 shots from our wedding that are non-pro that I wanted added to our album. Go for it!!

I did. I hated my photos and my best friend took better shots than my photogrtapher so in they went.

I didn't care about how the photographer felt about this. Had she taken good photos, I would not need to resort to these measures.

absolutely!! you have every right to! it's your album! I might be doing that w/ a few shots. Duet did a phenominal job, but I have to say there's not ONE shot of me or DH when the GM's lifted us up over the crowd in chairs....I have a bunch of them though from friends. I guess Duet was eating or taking bathroom breaks or something?? weird since I had 2 photog's. Don't feel bad at all that you want some non pro pics in your album, THEY should feel bad that they missed shots, ESPECIALLY since you had a must take photo list!!!
