Question for brides who already got their videos back..

I thought of this as I read someone's post on BHB

What does your video consist of??? what music did you select? and anything else?

Is there anything I should/should not get?

the very beginning of mine has a slow motion recap in all black and whhite (except my red flowers and little colored details here and there they used their photo art on). i used about 5 songs for it, incl my wedding song - i have the baby montage, and i think then it just goes into the video.

and one thing i wish i would have added were some HM pics that i forgot to close the video with. good luck!

Good question Marcella. I wonder if they'd let us give them a 'movie' DH put together that is essentially a slideshow of pics from our childhood. I'd like that to be on the DVD as well. Does anyone know if they will take something already created? It's digital, so we can transfer it easily.

I think its a matter of personal preference - some people add baby pictures, animation, honeymoon pictures, documentary interviews, etc.

We didn't want any of that. We just wanted it about the wedding - to capture the feeling of that day. We have songs by enya and sade. It starts off approaching my house and leads us through the day - there's some B&W oldies style footage which I LOVE, and a recap at the end.

Our DVD 'chapters' are all listed with a still shot from that section.

its romantic, artsy, creative and elegant - and needed nothing more.

Mine is similar to Lisa's (we used the same Co).

We didn't want any animation, etc. We just wanted a nice video of the day - we selected the music for the following sections: before church (guests walking in) photo shoot at beach, cocktail hr, and recap.

I am in the same boat. Ijust got my video as well (uneditted). My videographer told me to make a list of things that I do NOT want editted and a list of things that I can edit. They gave a whole list of songs to choose from. To be describtive - songs, clothng etc.
I have to go there in 30 days with my editting notes and honeymoon pictures.

We have the video broken out into sections: Arriving at the ceremony, the ceremony, going to the reception, photos in the library, cocktail hour, reception (there are more than that but that the general idea). Some of it is set to music, some 'real' sound.

The end is a recap of everything set to our song followed by baby photos, relationship photos and honeymoon photos set to appropriate music.

Ive seen the photos done in a cheesy way but our is relatively simple. Honestly, that part is one of the biggest hits b/c most of our friends have not seen our baby or honeymoon photos so everyone claps and cheers and laughs.

Mine is set up like Stef's but as a Getting Ready section in addition.

I chose the music myself.

I am not a fan of those 80's special effects so I chose a video company that really strives for a classy, elegant video.
