Question for Teachers

Our anniversary falls on a Sunday and I would like to plan some small trip somewhere but I don't want to travel back on our acutaly anniversary. If I plan something as a surprise for DH - is it bad that I assume he can take of that Monday??

Re: Question for Teachers

I know my DH hates taking days off during the school year - it's really annoying LOL

Are there any holidays that fall around then?!?! Election day or something i thought was around the beginning of November - if so, maybe you could piggy back on that and he wouldnt have to take an actual day off.

He says he has so many days saved up through the years. He really didn't use much last year with the wedding and all. I just don't know if it would be bad to assume he could and then something happens and he can't.

Re: Question for Teachers

i would ask him if he'd be willing to take off a monday ... i think most of my teacher-friends try not to take days off, if possible.

I hear ya - if he has the days that's awesome and he should totally use them.

Like Mor said, I would ask if he would be willing but if it came down to it and you wanted to surprise him, he could always just call in sick.

Just check the calendar - i really think election day is around then, and it's always in the middle of the week so if its around the day you want him to take off it might look a little fishy. But i dont know his district I know DH's district wouldnt like that.

Re: Question for Teachers

Here's what I found out:

November 8th is Election Day (Tuesday after)
November 11th is Veteran's day (Friday after)

I guess I could plan a little trip for the weekend after our anniversary right??

Yea, I would plan for the weekend after, then he doesn't have to worry about taking any time off...

That's EXACTLY what I was going to say! This way you can give him the surprise and he can plan accordingly for a week.

I'm thinking driving would be a more budget friendly idea rather than driving. Is it weird that I'm kinda weirded out by B&B's? And maybe I have my thinking wrong but you're staying in someone's house. Like a sleepover-ish type thing.

If not a B&B (b.c i totally hear ya on the house thing) maybe a cute inn...like where Ross and Emily went that time on Friends LOL
