DH and I like Riss Park a lot too! Might be hard to get to if you don't have a car but if you do, parking is only $5. We also like Rockaway and you can take the subway to 116th Street. Just walk along the boardwalk to the 120s. It's much nicer and less crowded at that end.
And, of course, as Preshus Smurf mentioned, there's Coney Island too!
These are the ones that I go to. I never go to Riis Park, but I know a few people that do and they all like it. I'm just much closer to the other ones.
