question for the evening

when you and dh are home watching tv, does he control the remote ? who decides on the program you are watching, or is it a mutual show? I know sometimes I go to my room to watch tv when dh is home. he thinks he owns the remote....

i definitely control the remote when we watch tv together. my DH is so laid back he could care less. he knows that for better or worse, we will be watching General Hospital first thing every night. after GH we usually watch shows that we both like.

GH first and then whatever he wants to watch which i usually like too

the only time we split up is sometimes he cant stand to watch LOST so he will go in the bedroom LOL

We have a handful of shows that we both watch, and he usually controls the remote (although I am SO much better at timing the fast forward on DVR!!). He doesn't get home from work until 8-8:30 so I try to watch my DVR'd shows before that. He likes to play Madden when he gets home... to relax.

My DH is a true sports addict. So when he watches a game I hang in the bedroom . We do watch a bunch shows together and movies though

DH totally controls the remote... even when we are watching 'our' shows. I don't mind except when he puts the volume up too loud, I hate loud TV lol. Also he knows how to use the DVR and I don't I'm hopeless with stuff like that!!!

lol. We had a game done at our reception called 'The Shoe Game' where we each got one of each other's shoes and then sat back-to-back. The MC asked us a few questions (like who is the better driver, who is most likely to cook breakfast in bed, start a fight, apologize first, etc, etc) and we put up the shoe of the person we think. It's funny only because we can't see what each other are guessing. We ended up getting MOST of the same answers except a few, ANYHOO, the final question asked was 'Who will control the remote' and of course we both said ourselves. That one got SUCH a reaction. All the women were screaming for ME, then men screaming to HIM. It was hysterical. Sorry for the rant, this question just brought back some fun memories.

Anyhoo - we both kinda share the remote. Most times when I don't care what we watch, I'll give it to him to find something, but other times I'll take control. It really depends. But we like most of the same shows anyhow (neither of us are HUGE tv people). But he'll sit thru the things I want to watch (like American Idol and whatnot) and I'll sit thru his shows (like King of the Hill, and UFC), I think it's good to SHARE. lol

I do, but thats because DH never watches TV, so, no fight here...
