Once you stopped taking the pill, how long did it take for you to get your period? I know everyone is different, but how long should I wait before contacting my doctor as DH and I are NOT TTC.

Re: Question for those off the Pill
My first month off of the pill was a 28 day cycle. My 2nd month was a 34 day cycle and the 3rd month was a 30 day cycle.
HTH!

Re: Question for those off the Pill
I'd say within 2 months I was back to a normal schedule, but I was always super regular, even when I first started getting my period.

Re: Question for those off the Pill
psssh it took me forever to get regular! I think the first month I got it like normal and then my period disappeared for like 3-4 months! I had issues like this for close to a year and now I am finally back on track.. I have always been slightly irregular though so I don't think this would happen to most people.

Re: Question for those off the Pill
I was regular right away but I was on the mini pills. If you arent TTC then I wouldnt rush off to the Dr.....For some people it can take 6 ons or more.

Re: Question for those off the Pill
I went off the pill in February 2008.
Didn't get a period for 3 months. Got it once, then didn't get it again for 3 months. Doctor put me on something to make me get it immediately but that took 2 weeks (instead of 5 days).
After that, I got it in 30 days... then 54... then 28... then 80... then 60... etc, etc, etc.
I'm all over the place still and it's almost 2 years. Everyone is different. If you're worried, talk to your gyn.

Thanks for all the feedback. I know everyone is different so I just have to see how my body is going to react.

Doc was only concerned when I started feeling some pain in my right abdomen. We did an ultrasound and I had a small cyst on my right ovary, but I actually think it's gone away now since my last cycle because it doesn't hurt anymore.
I was never, ever regular before. I actually only got my period 3 times before I turned 18 which is why I went on the pill in the first place. So this is 'normal' for me.
Some women just cycle differently than others. Once we start trying to conceive, it may take us longer than most, but the doc seems to think we won't have any problems. So that's good.
ETA: Oh, and I highly recommend getting a day planner and plotting out the days. I also write down when I feel PMSy (with codes lol) or when I feel pain so I can sorta tell when it coming. Although it's not on a numerical pattern, I still kinda can tell when it's coming. Plus it's great to have that info for the doc when you go.
