Enough about the in-laws. Let get back to our lives. Thus, the question for today is:

Another pair of high school sweethearts here! This is why I tell my friends that one must date for nine years before they can even consider getting engaged. Anything else is reckless I say! LOL

His cousin's wedding. However, my uncle and his uncle are friends since childhood (they are over 50 now). In addition, my cousin is married to his cousin's half-sister. We didn't realize this until after we met. We love to say that it was destiny.

We were acquantances in college, but it wasnt until after I graduated and went back to school to visit some friends that we started talking in the bar (he still had 1 semester left). We immediately hit it off and had so much in common. We started a long distance relationship and saw each other every weekend. Then 3 months later after he graduated, he moved up to NY and the rest is history!

We meet online almost 6 years ago. I was at a chatroom where I was chatting with friends and he just happened to pop in! We chatted online for a bit...I called him later that night. We really hit it off. We meet a few days later and have been together ever since!!

In college - I dated his fraternity brother! He was a loser and when I finally saw that, my now-husband and I started to date.

I was a PR person, and he a tech reporter. We met in my company's press room at a tech conference in Atlanta. It was 4 years ago on Tuesday. While we had already spoken on the phone several times for work reasons, it was love at first sight - literally. We shook hands and both felt a sort of 'thunderbolt' kind of thing that makes you go, 'what was that?'
Before he left the press room that afternoon, he asked me to have dinner with him that evening. I was working with Michele31 at the time and called her at the office in Long Island to tell her what had happened. I will never forget that day - ever!

Re: question for today - 10/24
We met while participating in carshows back in 93'. I used to show my 79 Firebird and he used to have a worked 88' Cutlass. We 'knew' of each other through the entire summer but never spoke because he had a girlfriend and I was sort of a novelty at the shows (being the only girl into cars and such). In addition to that, we were in the same class occasionally and viewed each other as 'competition'. He was also not my type per say, as he had that guido image/look going on and I wasn't into that (at the time). Anyway, one fall day I was driving to a show that I didn't even want to go to (it was cold/raining), I started listening to 50's music. It sort of set the tone for the day because all they would play was 50's tunes. The song 'Bobby's Girl' came on and I started singing my heart out in the car on the way there. When I got there, I looked like a total mess (my father's work clothes, messed up hair, greasy hands from working on the car). Along comes my 'competition' (as I'm cleaning the car) and he starts looking over my car. He started some small talk and immediately I 'casually' asked about his girlfriend. He told me they broke up (awwwh, how sad) because she didn't understand his devotion to the car/shows in general. We chatted and he walked away. A few minutes later, one of the girlfriends from his group of friends comes over and starts probing me about what I think of who else, Bobby! I told her I thought he was cool. She says 'Oh yeah, well he THINKS your cool too!'. I was like 'REALLY?'. Throughout the day, we kept sneaking glances at each other. It almost became a joke because his friends were teasing him and I felt all giddy when I'd look over and catch him looking at me. He got my digits by the end of the day and before I even got home, he was calling me. We started dating a few weeks later (less than two). Come to find out, he used to date a former classmate of mine in High School and I actually met him (when I said hello to them) at the prom. He also used to park outside my house and check out my brother and my car when he'd pick her up from school. Fate? I think so.

At a pee-wee football game!
He came to see his nephew play (his brother's kid)& I went to see my nephew play (my sister's kid). Since my sister's husband's sister is married to my DH's brother (which makes the two boys nephews)everyone knew each other and we got introduced...and the rest is history.
I know it sounds incestuous, but luckily it isn't!

I met my FH at a bar, too!
It was one of those nights...no makeup, hair pinned up, just finished painting friends apartment around the block. We stopped into the neighborhood pub for a quick bite and a cold beer. Who'd know that the man of my dreams would come strolling in a few minutes after us????
BTW-I'm not a newlywed yet! Just practicing...I'll be one in eight days!!!!!!!
It's neat to see so many names I recognize from the other board!! Glad that you are all still posting here

Re: question for today - 10/24
I met my hubby at work, we used to work for the same company. He was always trying to find reasons to ask me something. He is still asking, hey he even asked me to marry him...who knew it would have lead to this...LOL The first time he asked me out to lunch he said it was to thank me for helping him out with a project for his client...really...I was only doing my JOB!!! We no longer work for the same company.
