Question for you ladies...

How often does dh go out without you, and does it bother you when he does?

Mine goes out without me sometimes. I usually appreciate the alone time (but not always!!!)

Re: Question for you ladies...

Roger goes away on a trip by himself or with his friend once a year, then there are his business trips, I miss him lots but I love the alone time. I told him no longer than 5 days, this time he went away 10 days it was good, but a bit too long for my taste. It is nice to have the house to myself and not have to cook if I don't feel like it etc, etc. I stay with my GF and her kids.

Re: Question for you ladies...

unfortunately Dh works a zillion hours per week, atleast 60 usually, so when he isnt sleeping or at the gym, its usually us together because we have to take advantage of what little time we have together. I would say I am the one who goes out without him, just to dinner etc with friends.

Re: Question for you ladies...

Mike takes one trip a year without me too, in November. I don't mind- he likes it so much!

Next week I am going to Europe for 10 days without him.

Re: Question for you ladies...

Other then work or an occasional weekend or evening doctor's appointmnet, never.

I would actually enjoy an evening or afternoon alone in the house (provided he doesn't call hourly).

Re: Question for you ladies...

My DH doesn't really have a group of pals to 'hang' with here in NY So, he doesn't get to do many guys nights...on the rare occasion that he does go out (with a friend's hubby or my brother), I NEVER give him any grief for it...there's just no reason to...

Re: Question for you ladies...

My hubby is a 'homebody' and many women have told me to count my blessings for that

He has never gone away without me since we've met 10years ago, and it would never cross his mind.. Even when the guys at work wanted to go to a bar, he'd have to get talked into it...To him, thats just not something he feels he needs or wants at this point in his life, even when we were dating. (He must have partied hardy in his frat days for him to be so mellowed out at this point in his life

I, on the other hand when we were dating, I went to Florida with friends 2-3X, with my sister, went away a weekend or two in the tri-state area with friends, Ive had a few go-aways without him, where he didnt mind at all. Of course he sounded 'sulky' when Id call him, but the time apart was just enough for us to miss eachother and I had fun girl time or time with my sister...

Now, when he does go out with the guys, kayaking or for poker night, or playing on a softball league or anything at all, I cheer him on and am totally happy for him, because guys NEED that camraderie and that time to hang out as 'the boys'.

Maybe Id feel differently if he were totally different and went away alot, but its just NOT his personality to want to be away from home. My little hermit

Re: Question for you ladies...

Hubby goes out with his buddies once a month on average. But then again, a part of his job is taking out his clients, so he goes out regularly. I usually encourage him to do so b/c it's healthy. I also enjoy when he does so b/c it gives me time to myself to do what I want. As for traveling we've never went away on separate vacations. He sometimes travel for work, but other than that, so far we go on vacations together. I once wanted to go on a cruise with my aunt and some friends and he almost has a fit b/c he wasn't going! I thought about it and asked myself 'if he was leaving to go on a cruise with all his boys, would I be happy?' Hmmmmmmmmm - HELL NO - was the answer I came up with! Who knows, maybe later on things will change.

Re: Question for you ladies...

my husband goes out at least once a week with a friend or two. we also frequently have friends of his over here. they smoke cigars, play pool, chess, etc.

I have always valued and looked forward to our alone time. When he used to go out, I would go out with my friends as well. NOw I have my new friend to look after, but I still don't mind...
