Everyone keeps asking me 'What are you looking forward to the most?' I always answer with walking down the aisle and seeing Brian at the end of it. Was it as magical as you had hoped? Were you able to really savor the moment and feel the magic everyone talks about?

I feel so guilty saying this, but I was so unemotional on my wedding day. It is not that I don't love DH, but I was very calm on my wedding day. I didn't cry, I didn't shake. I remember EVERYTHING! Sometimes I am proud of that and sometimes I feel guilty that I wasn't as emotional.
It was NOT the best day of my life. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful. It was just the start of my NEW life. I would be very sad if my wedding was the best day of my life. What would I have to look forward to after that?
OMG that is so funny you feel that way. I was happy but not the dreaming princess type feeling that so many women had I thought I was the only one..a part of me blamed it on us being together for so long. We are happy together everyday so it was like having a big party.

I'm very glad for both of your posts because I felt the same way. I was oddly calm the whole day and no where near as emotional as I thought I would be.
But it WAS the best day of my life to date (I plan on having lots more best days in the future!)
The best thing to me was advice that I got from some random woman at Lucky Cheung's (at least I think it was a woman!!).
She told me that the key to remembering your wedding day was to stop for a couple of seconds before you start walking down the aisle. Those seconds give you the chance to look around at all the people who love you, see all your hard work come to fruition and know that the day is yours.
My dad and I stopped for 10 seconds and I swear it set the whole tone for the day. I stopped and enjoyed every minute of it and it WAS as magical as I hope it would be!!
Yours will be too!

Yes, it was magical. We saw each other before our ceremony for pics. Infact I got ready at Flowerfield. I called Tom from FF to remind him to bring something and I was totally calm. Then when I found out he arrived I was sooooooo excited. Seeing him for the first time was so amazing. Then again as I walked up the aisle...I felt like I was walking into my new life.
