You go to a 1st bithday party- do you expect to receive a thank you card when you give a gift?
dh and i are debating this- he thinks no, I think yes. We went to his god-daughter's 1st birthday Saturday- we will not receive a thank you note- I know this because we didnt get one for the mother's baby shower or the baby's christening.
Just wanted to see if it was me!

Re: Quick Poll
Of course! I got one for my little cousins 1st bday. But you said that you didnt get one for this womens shower or chistening so obviously TY's aren't her forte

Re: Quick Poll
I think if it was at a place and there was a lot of people who brought gifts, then yes. if it was a small family only party at home, then no. I think people should always send thank you's. But for some reason the atmosphere changes my expectations, No reason. Just does.
ETA: I never sent thank yous for my bday gifts growing up and it makes me cringe now. my mom always bought ones for me to write out but I never did it.

Re: Quick Poll
The only first birthday I've been to was fairly casual. I recieved a call to thank me and the mother also thanked me again later in person. For me, as long as I get a sincere thank you I'm happy.

Re: Quick Poll
I don't remember ever having to send out thank you notes for a birthday party. Mind you I haven't had a b-day party since I was 10. I guess it would be a nice jester.
