So I am getting my sister her Kitchenaid Mixer for her shower present this Sunday but am debating whether to scan her registry when I get it for her. Reason is...she checks the registry alot and I really want to surprise her. Also she is not expecting me to spend alot on the gift bc I am helping pay for the shower, etc.........and she probably thinks I will spend what she spent on me.
Anyway....someone just bought her the $400 pots she registered for and she is trying to guess who and thinks its her FH sisters (which it is)....anyway should I scan the registry and let her guess....or just totally throw her off and dont scan it.
PS - There is no incentive gift for the mixer

I voted yes! That's only because my mixer is still on my registry and I still want it to come off!! If you don't think she will figure it out, take it off, what if another family member wants to do a split gift like his sisters did and they get the mixer?

I would, you don't want someone else to get it (or go in on a group gift) and then she gets 2!

I know I am scared of that. There are 5 days to go and I am alittle worried. BUT I have spread the word to her friends and to my aunts so they know not to get it.
Anyway I am leaning toward not scanning it just because I really want to surprise her!

I was thinking this too but I wont have time bc her bachelorette party is Saturday. UNLESS I make DH get it!

I vote NO and I also say wait to the very last minute. Reason being is my MIL did this with us. She got us the Gordon Ramsey pot set that was on my registry... I was hoping someone would buy them, it never came off my registry. Then at my shower they were there... it really was a great surprise. So if you can wait to the last minute do it. Usually people would go in on something like that cause of price, so it might not go. HTH

My thoughts exactly. The registry was created to avoid this kind of mess. My best man bought things off my registry for my E-party, except he didn't realize that he is suppose to show the clerk he is buying this off a registry so she can list them as purchased. Fortunately we didn't get any doubles. I went online to do the deed. Plus its so much fun when you see that someone bought you something off the registry. You wonder who it is!

Where did she register for it? If she register for it at BB&B and she gets 2 she can return one and get cash back or store credit. I would not scan it. I got my mixter and it was not scaned on my registery. My boss who bought it for me bought it at Macy's instead of BB&B, so I was very excited. GL

Also shop around Kohl's sells them and they are always on sale. Do you have a Macy's card I have a coupon for $50 off if you spend $250 but you have to use your Macy's card to pay if you want it let me know.
